Use Unicode Roman Numerals (U+2160 to U+216B), they are correctly sorted:
Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ, Ⅴ, Ⅵ, Ⅶ, Ⅷ, Ⅸ, Ⅹ, Ⅺ, Ⅻ
