@dev_ric @ukcasual I knew it reminded me of something!

Happy to report though that the bag also includes cola flavoured reindeer ones which are pretty banging.

Percy Pig's festive helpers are a bit cursed.

How does it look so old and so young at the same time?!

Looking for a PeerTube instance for game devlogs.

I have a crafts channel on makertube.net already but would prefer to spread myself around in case one server goes down. Also tbh I'm not even sure devlogs would count as "making" anyway.

Tried the instance finder on the PT homepage but it's pretty useless so if anyone knows where is stable and welcomes this kind of content I'd appreciate it! Thanks.

@Gradually_Adjusting We were thinking of doing the rounds and trying to find a supermarket with better fruit than Asda. Will have to add spinach to the experiment and report back on my findings!

@ukcasual Also if my bananas could stop getting those creepy black bits. Ta.

My kingdom for spinach that doesn't turn to watery mush after three days!

It's 2023! Get on it, science!

Gah.

@dev_ric @ukcasual I like chocolate the way god intended! As chocolate. Or cake. Preferably both at the same time.

Clearly my tastes in cold treats are just a little classier than your own. No shame in it, I won't judge.

@leraje Well that puts the cat among the pigeons, introducing *homemade* lollies into the mix. I guess we would need to test homemade lemonade ones too to be sure.

...brb ordering a lolly mould.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago

@leraje Hmm, personally I find the orange ones tend to wear out their welcome by the end.

But I respect your take on this important matter.

In the ever-growing pantheon of fancy iced treats, I believe the humble lemonade lolly is still the superior choice.

And if you're turning your nose up at this right now, I encourage you to give it a go. Most refreshing, tastes like childhood.

As part of the whole "return to 2010 internet" thing the world is doing, I've been convinced to give #RSS feeds another go and picked up #inoreader

So! I'm starting from scratch but have made a big list of #GameDev feeds that I've found so far and posted it on Lemmy 'cos it's way too long for here (see first post in thread).

Any suggestions for things to add to my reading list would be very welcome! Blog, video, podcast, we're in the "throw feeds at the wall and see what sticks" stage here ๐Ÿ˜„

@loregret @gamedev Appreciate the homework, thank you :D

@Foxysen @gamedev That is definitely a term I've heard thrown around before and never had cause to investigate what it actually is. Sounds like now's the time, thank you! ๐Ÿ˜…

Hoping for some advice on AI pathfinding terminology

Basically I have a town made of individual hex shaped tiles with buildings on them. Each tile will have footpaths too, and my little people will hopefully wander around the paths, travelling to other tiles via their path connections.

I'm fine with learning this stuff but just not sure exactly what terms to search for to get started!

Should I be looking up specific #Godot features for finding routes? Algorithms? Help!
