No it's not. Under norton / VPN / settings everything is turned off. Ad tracker, kill switch, auto VPN all turned off. These are default settings I assume as I never altered them. I normally use PC without VPN. I turned on VPN to see if it corrected the SSL certificate error I have been getting a lot recently and it did, which I don't really understand lol. Now every time I turn on PC I have to turn on VPN to establish an internet connection. I know I can put VPN on automatically but I don't want to have to turn it on. I should be able to connect to internet without the VPN on. I still get the SSL certificate error when I turn the VPN off but thats another story lol

Hi there, hope someone can help

I have ethernet cabling, no Wi-Fi. I started getting certain websites being blocked due to SSL certificate errors. I made another post but no one replied. I tried everything I could find on the internet, but turning on the VPN on Norton 360 seemed to fix it. But now when I turn the VPN off, or boot up PC (default settings to VPN off, need to turn it on manually) I can't connect to the internet at all. I don't seem to have an internet connection unless I use a VPN. Beginning to hate Norton

I looked at the network settings/properties, to make sure the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) is getting IP and DNS address automatically so it isn't that

I'm not massively technical so I assume someone will need further info but I am not sure what you would need to know. Please let me know and I will post.

Thanks, Ste

Is my post (see above) in the correct forum? just that no one seems to be offering up any suggestions / advice so wondered if I have posted this in the wrong area?

Hi there, hope someone can help

getting error NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID using my PC/network. My PC is connected to router via ethernet, so not on a wifi

Happening only with certain web pages like the final fantasy 14 wiki page. I know the page is working as works on my mobile phone when I turn off the wifi

Things I have tried:

Incognito window

Using another internet browser

Turning off fire wall temporarily

Emptying cache and browser history

re-loading page several times

I use norton 360, done a scan

I did at one point turn on the VPN with norton and it then worked, but I have to have my VPN off for various reasons

Anyone any ideas?

I will be honest, most stuff on my PC I can figure out and fix myself through Dr google, but this has baffled me. I don't understand what the SSL certificate function is, as I understand it, it makes a website reputable so you can trust it, but it's doing the exact opposite. I looked online and saw adverts about buying a certificate, which seems crazy, not sure why that was suggested. It doesn't seem to be my fire wall (tried turning that off) I emptied all the history/cache, so what is it that is telling my PC to block this website?
