This is very cool and interesting, but I can't help but think about how "everyone" here really means "wealthy people" with the way things are in the US right now

Thank you!! I've never been very active in this kind of social media, but TwoXChromosomes was one of my favorite subreddits. So glad to see that energy brought over here :)

Digging it so far. Some technical issues but I think they may just be due to the mobile app I am using (sometimes when I open a post, the comments displayed are the ones from the last post I looked at). But it feels much more.. Democratic? Than reddit did.

Similar for me -- but add onto it, when I joined, lemmy.world was the only one of the top 3 most populated instances (with lemmy.ml and beehaw) that had open registration
