- None of them are GrapheneOS
- eOS is trash
- Fairphone is notoriously slow in regards to shipping security updates, making their phones unusable for anyone who cares about security and privacy (since without security, there can be no privacy)
You can donate to GrapheneOS and I highly doubt that the hardware of the Fairphone is open
e/OS is a joke btw
Well, if you didn't know, Molly is a soft fork of the Signal Android client.
But, I think both support making local backups of your chats.
I do so daily and keep two copies. These get synced in real time to my little NAS and/or my PC/Laptop
I wonder if I'll live long enough to witness the Rust rewrite of ReactOS
(it's written in C and has had a snail pace development, well, since forever. not meant as a negative btw. it's just that their resources and demand for it are quite limited afaik)
Posteo?
yk you can backup your passphrase-protected gpg keys in one simple copy/paste command?
Is there any reason to use this over Librewolf?
before I set up and try out 5 different apps, I thought that I'd get some opinions first
hosted exclusively on youtube, make that make sense
It makes perfect sense, since it's open source and not free/libre we are talking about. Open source doesn't care about the philosophy or political movement behind free software. It's an opportunistic appeal to corporations, advertising "open source" as just a more efficient development model
Just like with ublock you have to configure it a bit, especially the blocklists
here is my setup:
(you can also import additional lists, these are rly cool https://github.com/bogachenko/fuckfuckadblock )

From their website:
As online advertising becomes ever more ubiquitous and unsanctioned, AdNauseam works to complete the cycle by automating ad clicks universally and blindly on behalf of its users. Built atop uBlock Origin, AdNauseam quietly clicks on every blocked ad, registering a visit on ad networks' databases. As the collected data gathered shows an omnivorous click-stream, user tracking, targeting and surveillance become futile.
AdNauseam is a free browser extension designed to obfuscate browsing data and protect users from tracking by advertising networks. At the same time, AdNauseam serves as a means of amplifying users' discontent with advertising networks that disregard privacy and facilitate bulk surveillance agendas.
