Thank goodness! I didn't want to always be bugging others because of their red warnings.

Security by design is so much better and should have been there from the start TBH

Smart TVs are some scary shit, like seriously. All the stuff they record and set home is extremely concerning

Unfortunately I have no other option since I am using Bluefin (based on Fedora Silverblue, i.e. atomic distro) and they seem to refuse to build the Flatpak themselves

I think it's some delusion about fooling "the big AI" while not understanding how LLMs actually work and "learn"

Arguably, 2nd hand private sellers would have bought it anyway and you are just saving e-waste at that point

[-] qweertz@programming.dev 2 points 6 months ago

I suppose, but Fairphones are a security and thus a privacy nightmare. As soon as you cross a border or police get your phone, e/OS and CalyxOS are virtually useless

Postgres slowing factor

~~I'm pretty sure one of the best optimised free/libre DBMS's is faster than Python 💀~~

EDIT: skimmed it wrongly, see corrections below

Also no one knows how Piefed scales, since it only has like 350 MAU

Glad to be of help! I personally really like Syncthing, since it makes implementing a resilient decentralised backup strategy quite easy.

Though I would recommend you go with "Syncthing-Fork", as iirc the "vanilla" app was put into maintenance mode or smth like that

Exactly; a lot of international organisations are already located in Switzerland, so there shouldn't be many gripes with that (also means you aren't at the whims of a global empire in self-destruct mode)

iirc with OpenSuse or Fedora, Secureboot works quite easily too
