The one time I've personally heard about a claim being denied (at first) was when a person who is in group therapy wanted to do their insurances online solo therapy offer as well. Technically, the law says that doing solo therapy in addition to group therapy is fine, but that specific online program was intended as a catch-all offer for people who can't find a therapy spot at all. But I think the insurance gave in and let them take it anyway after a call or two.

I know insurances are allowed to not cover it if you want wacky treatments like chiropractors and acupuncture. Some treatments, like tooth cleaning, are limited to I think twice a year, after that you have to pay the dentist out of pocket. There are also certain meds that count as "lifestyle drugs", which are not covered by default. I know that Mounjarno (the weight loss version of Ozempic) was one of them. So if your doctor decides to prescribe it, they write it down on a green sheet of paper to signal that it's self-pay only. There was some sort of system to ask the insurance for an exception, but I've never heard of anyone needing to do that.

What I've never heard either is insurances denying MRIs or anything like that. I don't think they're allowed to do that here?? I've only ever had one MRI and a few X-Rays taken, but when I did I wasn't even thinking about the insurance because whenever something isn't covered by insurance doctors will usually wait a second and ask whether you're sure that you want to pay yourself. If they don't ask, it's fine.

Is WD-40 toxic to snakes? I'm either having a very bad or a very hilarious idea right now

What can you do to mitigate that fear? You obviously know there's some irrationality to it, but that doesn't mean that it would be invalid to try and dampen some of those concerns ^^

How about getting a little fire extinguisher for your kitchen? I'm confident with cooking, but I still always have one on hand just in case!

You can also try and experiment with what exactly your boundaries are. Are you comfortable making something like a soup/stew? Does it bother you to bake something? That might be more than enough for the start, and once you get comfortable with that you might even naturally want to level up to scarier stuff.

When it comes to fears, the only way to lose is not to try. Because every instance of avoiding something you're afraid of reinforces that fear by making you think that you successfully avoided a scary situation. Even if absolutely nothing would have happened otherwise.

Good luck!

I also dont find these threads full of people saying negative things about piracy, but thats a matter of perspective.

In my experience, people who are annoyingly judgmental about Piracy irl are not the ones using Text-heavy social media.

I'd love for someone more experienced to chime in, but on first glance the classification of JavaScript/Typescript as backend strikes me as weird.

That may just be because the team I work with uses a React/Typescript/Java/Postgres stack and we specifically classify the Typescript as part of the Frontend. Maybe it's different in different companies?

I'm sure that a Typescript backend could work perfectly fine, it's just semantics 🤷

My homeoffice setup is right next to a window, so it's too bright for dark mode during the summer. So I work in light mode from about April-September and in dark mode for the rest of the year

I'm a mobile phone only person outside of work, but for work I refuse to exist with less than 3 screens: One main one for working, the screen of my docked laptop for references and documentation, and a 90° tilted screen with my Outlook calendar and Teams constantly open so that I can always check them both on a glance (got all Teams and Outlook notifications off since they're distracting).

Honestly, I'm actually thinking about either upgrading my main screen to something curved/ultrawide or getting a fourth one, but the extra weight might actually be a concern for my stand/sit desk lol
