you can record without consent if you want. but you can be sued and pay damages if the recording goes in public/you share it with other people etc in some countries is ilegal to record without consent.

As per fsf only those linux distributions are 100% free:

Dragora
Dyne
Guix
Hyperbola
Parabola
PureOS
Trisquel
Ututo
libreCMC
ProteanOS

Do you agree or no?

I see a lot of people that want to switch from windows to a linux distro or a open os. But from what i see they tend to migrate to another black boxed/closed os.

What is a trully free os that doesnt included any closed code/binary blobs/closed drivers etc.

Just 100% free open code, no traps.

What are the options and what should one go with if they want fully free os that rejects any closed code?

your dns server relays on another upstream dns server that could be down so whats the point

you could replace your battery every 6 months but make sure you get genuine one (from official service, no clue if they still sell for this model) not some shady chinese aftermarket option

you should know if you are recorded. its a good thing.

so the call recording stays on the device yet they added a tos for it?

what trick is this? could someone link this tos?
this is just a response to apple offering this function on iphones.

for ages google blocked call recording and since apple started implementing it they turned it on now? lol.

the listed alternatives wont give much performance boost.
skip and wait the newer phones with bigger batteries 7000mah+ and with better new gen soc/cpu/gpu.

software too i unboxed a new pixel, started to set it up and all of a sudden, a lot of system apps started to crash. returned it next hour.

these days all website run on javascript and budget devices have poor cpu performance which translate in slow loading of web pages.

not to mention the telephone part is crap too, junk microphone, junk ear speaker, weak signal etc.

just for phone calls better i'd get an old nokia dumbphone

[-] pie@piefed.social 1 points 2 months ago

i would replace the battery and put lineageos on it.
the new devices dont give that much performance and the prices on those are not worth it.

What is a modern cpu that you can run on full load 24/24 fanless and with least power draw?
I'm looking to use it without any fans.
Performance is not that much needed, only quiet and no big watts drawn :)

Hi, can a piefed server be run only locally? Not to get any content from other servers? Local content, local users.
What are the minimum hardware requirements? Like cpu, ram? I understand it can eat more resources based on how much activity it has. But, can i get some examples on how much should or can a intel dedicated machine like 14900k with 64gb ram can handle? Is this software more cpu hungry or more ram needed?

To easy understand what i am saying, i will give you this example, you visit domain.com but on this page there are other things from external domains other than domain.com that firefox fetches/connects to - cdn.blabla.com; third-party.socialwebsites.com, etc. What i want, is to simply not connect to any other domain except what i typed in url bar. I understand it can break pages but i dont care.
A while ago, setting permission.default.images to 2 somehow worked and stopped loading of external content. Disabling prefetch/preconnect/predict/predictor does nothing.
p.s. i dont want to use extensions, only about config.
