But are there any DEs that make use of this and include setting screen brightness on external screens as easy as for laptops? Is it because each screen manufacturer implements altering brightness/contrast/etc. via ddcci differently?

Sounds great, and is very welcome! Please merge. Thank you. Do you guys have any idea why ddc/ci controls for brightness control of external screens are not yet implemented in any major De? It's the same on windows, still not part of the Os. Third party tools available since ages.

Or CalyxOS. Both are totally reliable as daily drivers on pixels. Installation is super easy via web installer and you can still use the original Google cam app that makes your images look as nice as you are used too. Join their respective Matrix chats to get things going and ask the noon questions.

Was gifted some Primergy RX2530 M1 M2 and M4 - suitable for homelab in termy energy consumption (discuss.tchncs.de)
 

Lately I received a primergy rx2530 m1, m2 and m4 (all maxed out with ram and cpus) and wonder if and which of them can be driven as energy efficient as any random diy built. I saw plenty of energy saving options on the Bios (cpu and ram related) but do not know how comparable this is with a consumer setup and which ones are important to be set. I will make my own measurements with truenas and proxmox but wonder if anyone else has those in use. I saw that the rx2540 might be the better option as it can pickup 8 x 3,5 hdd while on the rx2530s the m1 is the only one compatible with with 3,5. Also they have proprietary Hbas. Can those be switched into dumb mode where they allow the os direct access to the connected drives?

Thank you for any suggestions and sharing experiences.

Found an x61 and an x200t at a flea market in Bremen two days ago and let my girlfriend talk me out of this 15€ purchase :D :/ I still have a 1400x1050 panel sitting in the drawer.
