Possibly. We've also just been VERY bad at hitting and scoring runs all year, and with us just today losing our playoff spot, having Davis on the roster for the extra couple weeks as a hot bat is just needed right now. If DeJong had hit a little maybe we'd have sent Schneider down for a couple weeks to keep DeJong on the roster. Davis has shown up and proven he deserves the spot though. Queue his inevitable ice cold streak now haha.

My biggest request right now is suggestions for banner and sidebar photos. Other than the couple special days we've had, those images are starting to maybe feel stale? I'm not asking for any crazy photoshops(although those are welcome too), I'd just be happy with people just posting photos they'd like to see in either spot.

Romano's back tonight!

I think until a clear top 5 show they deserve to be the rotation, we run with 6 starters for the rest of the season. Gausman's numbers for sure are better with the extra day of rest, and you can always play with the order if there's an off day. Until our bullpen starts to get overused at least. If there's an opportunity to send a guy to the IL for phantom foot tenderness, we can maybe pull a guy up for bullpen help in a pinch.

Sorry, I will try to post non Twitter/X links from now on. Unfortunately the breaking baseball news still happens there, so I've been using it here to keep people up to date. In the worst case, I'll at least post the full text content here as well if it's only on Twitter.

"Bo Bichette's MRI revealed no significant structural damage, per John Schneider.

He is considered day-to-day for now." - Sportsnet

[-] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago

Just looking at Dejong's contract too, he's not strictly a rental either, although he could be with team options for '24 and '25. Gives us some flexibility there, if we want to keep him around as our 2B if he's open to playing there. Or if we can finally convince Bo to move to 2nd, but I don't see that happening.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago

Bo's injury last night definitely complicates things. Hopefully it's not serious. I'm sure he's going to have every test possible to determine how bad it is so they can make an extra move today(if there even is one to make) if he's going to be out for any length of time.

Great outing form Bassit. Pitching continues to pick us up and give us chances to win. Now we need some insurance runs to help out the bullpen.

One more decent start like that and he should be coming back! I think they mentioned on the broadcast yesterday wanting to get him up to around 80 pitches in rehab starts. Only 14 pitches to go!

Dominate. If we get Manoah and Ryu back at anywhere near their best, also Chad Green (who I haven't heard about at all since we signed him) this team is going to be unstoppable. Maybe we go to some kind of 6 man rotation to keep all the arms more rested, or maybe we stash Kikuchi in the bullpen for long relief for bad starts. Gives Schneider the ability to have a shorter leash on guys, because we have someone who can eat innings waiting in the bullpen.
