Suppose I have the text "This is at test". I notice that I have a typo in there, I want to change "at" into "a". Therefore I hit backspace until "This is a". Now what is interesting is that autocorrect underlines the "a" PLUS the whitespace before!

So when I hit whitespace in order to get "This is a ", the space before gets replaced as well, so it turns into "This isa ".

Now, try and repeat - when I want to fix this and delete the "a" - What I end up is "Thisis ". :(

I often have to delete the entire sentence before it stops merging words together. Happens with Openboard as well as the stock keyboard.

Does anyone else have this issue? Only reference I found is this:

Moin Leute, ich wollte mal fragen ob jemand noch spontan einen Tipp hat was ruhige Sylvester-Events in Hamburg angeht? Ich finde an sich Feuerwerk (mit Ohrstöpseln) schön, vor allen mit guter Aussicht, und wäre auch der Typ für so All-Inclusive-Events mit Buffet etc. Leider steht häufig dabei, dass es DJs und Tanzmusik gibt, was für mich der absolute Graus wegen der Lautstärke ist. Meine Freunde sind auch eher hochsensibel, Raclette zuhause fällt für die meisten flach wegen dem Geruch in der Wohnung.

Ideal wäre eine Location, wo es was zu Futtern gibt und man schön das Feuerwerk genießen kann, aber ohne den ganzen Abend mit lauter Musik zugedröhnt zu werden. 😅 Hat da jemand eine Idee?

Nur mal so ein Gedanke. Ich habe in letzter Zeit einige Handwerker für eine Renovierung beauftragt und bin erstaunt bzw. entsetzt, wie normal es scheinbar ist, Schwarzarbeit anzubieten bzw. in Anspruch zu nehmen!?

Ich hatte bisher selten mit Handwerkern zu tun, daher habe ich keine Erfahrungswerte. Soweit ich weiß ist das immer noch illegal, da es Steuerhinterziehung ist und dem Gemeinwesen schadet. Dennoch haben mich bestimmt 80% der Handwerker wie selbstverständlich gefragt, ob ich mit oder ohne Rechnung machen möchte. Äh hallo?? :D Natürlich mit Rechnung... Ich hab ja keine Lust mich strafbar zu machen.

Wie steht ihr dazu bzw was sind eure Erfahrungen?

How do you discover content on Lemmy that is not in your local instance?

I even tried subscribing to "leopardsatemyface" from Lemmy.world, but my app doesn't even show it in the search results even when actively looking for it. 🤨

Also if you don't mind another stupid question, when I subscribe to a community it is first shown as "pending" and only a few minutes later as "joined" - why? What is it waiting for?
