I imagine a lot of this data is because they are the ones cashing out so I don't know how accurate this is. I feel Its more likely the American population's 401k are losing the value here. Billionaires selling off billions vs my measly 100k is going to have a more dramatic market effect. If that's the case hopefully we see some massive capital gains tax... But my guess is this money is being reinvested somewhere else or offshored.

The majority of Americans side with our allies. Even those that voted for trump. But this is our mess to clean up. What we need is informational aide. Truth and facts are being held hostage by corporate sponsored social media. Im glad lemmy can answer that call. But we need a coordinated effort to take down zuckerfuck, elmo, and fuckspez propaganda machine.

Im noticing its harder and harder to find things on google. Searching for a companies quarterly profits, cost of medical care for all per capita, and othet economic details are all getting more and more buried in google. Just asking how other contries do their social programs results in us based opionion articles....like wtf are we even doing.

I understand scrolling and indexing sites is an enormous undertaking. Is there currently a federated open source search engine? If not is their a potential to create one?

Is there a trustworthy private option?

Reganomics. Trickle down economics. Only thing that trickles is piss and shit.

formerly known as the horse-and-sparrow theory: the idea that feeding a horse a huge amount of oats results in some of the feed passing through for lucky sparrows to eat.

Yeah it came quickly and quietly. Corporate consolidation, equity firms, and billionaire money have completly dismantled the internet. I feel like it started around the time net neutrality was overturned.

This was my battle last night. Trying to post how much a 3k deductible cost between my employer and I.

  • 10k annual premium for me.
  • 13k for my employers contribution.
  • 3k Deductibles are seperate so 6k for family
  • Max out of pocket 10k.

I have since switched to a "higher" deductible plan with HSA. Still rediculous

Thank you Lemmy developers, server admins, and mods for allowing us to have a have an actual conversation/discussion/debate!

Well now that im looking at shreddit... How did you find that information? All it shows me is options to subscribe and automatically delete my post history.

edit: Nevermind. Its sh.reddit.com not shreddit.com

Yeah someone sent me a article and guide mentioning that info after i posted. I wasnt able to edit the title though. I did edit a link into the body of my post though. I literaly set up my lemmy that day so was a little green about all the info/guides. I was just super excited about sharing lemmy with the reddit community and didnt do enough reaearch. I did edit and comment as i discovered more info though.

It was cool to see such a surge in 24 hours. Alot of comments saying its "too hard to use" while ignoring guides and tips the lovely lemmy community provided me when it started gaining traction. Some had valid complaints others just wanted to hate on something new. It was great to see others commenting in support and defending lemmy. And pointing out other users who didnt read the post content on how to get started.

One of my favorite comments was someone claiming i was a shill for lemmy 😂
