Don't feed the trolls y'all.

What does this have to do with Linux?

Brendan Eich is not involved with Mozilla anymore.

He also created JavaScript though. So by your logic how can you use the web in general?

I tried for years to breakup with Google search, but always kept coming back to it for one reason or another. I started using Kagi a few months ago and have not even thought about Google since then. I really can’t recommend it enough, especially now that the $10/month plan is unlimited searches.

Your question seems to be confusing between browser and search engine. These are two separate pieces of software.

But to answer both:

  • Browser: Firefox. Google has demonstrated clearly that they cannot be trusted as the sole owner of the web which is what is about to happen as Chromium (which Brave is based on) fully takes over. Mozilla (makers of Firefox) is the last holdout. If you care, this is case in point about how Google having a monopoly on browsers will kill the free web: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_Environment_Integrity.
  • Search engine: Another +1 for Kagi. It has completely replaced Google for me.

I use a mix of shell commands, terminal file manager, and GUI file manager depending on the task at hand.

The terminal file managers are quicker to navigate to a particular file/directory since it doesn't require typing commands but I can still navigate with a few key strokes as opposed to using a GUI.

"Bought" as in handed down from a family member so who am I argue to with that? It's fairly low mileage (<50k) and it wasn't used as a dedicated plow truck, just had a plow installed during the winter for dealing with clearing a long road back to a cabin. It wasn't laying down salt at all. But yes, rust is certainly something I've been keeping an eye on.

Good point, I think the on-road tires on it already are the biggest thing holding me back, not the diff.

Whew, that's a lot to consider! This truck previously had a snowplow on it. Any chance of using that mount for a winch?
