both want it to be easier for people to raise families on single-income.

Nope, that's not true. See, if you make it easier to raise families on a single income, immigrants might do it, and conservatives can't have that. They'd rather cut off their own noses to spite brown people.

will the increased requirements to charge all these vehicles increase power plant emissions worsening the effects of coal over regular vehicle emissions?

No, that's never going to happen. A huge coal power plant is always going to operate at a higher efficiency than a little engine inside a car or truck. It's the efficiency of scale. And that's the starting point! Our grid is already nearing 50% renewable in some places and it's rising.

No it's not. Russian and Chinese state capitalism turned two preindustrial countries into global superpowers in a matter of decades, and lifted unprecedented numbers of people out of poverty. And they weren't even communist! Communism has been tried in places like Catalonia and economically, it succeeded. Militarily, not so much, but only because all the capitalists turned against them. Capitalism is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to lifting people out of poverty.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_views_of_J._K._Rowling#Transgender_rights

In March 2022, Rowling criticised Labour party leader Keir Starmer who said "trans women are women" in his personal opinion and according to British law. She accused him of misrepresenting the law and said "the Labour Party can no longer be counted on to defend women's rights"

In October 2022, Rowling voiced opposition to the Scottish Gender Recognition Reform Bill aimed at expanding the rights of trans people, calling Nicola Sturgeon a "destroyer of women's rights"

In February 2024, Rowling donated £70,000 to a crowd-funding appeal by For Women Scotland in support of their legal case challenging the definition of "woman". The appeal was started after the UK Supreme Court decided to grant the case a judicial review.[101][102][103] The case is one of many through which For Women Scotland are seeking to overturn the inclusion of trans women with gender recognition certificates in the legal definition of "woman" in some laws in Scotland.

On 13 March 2024, Rowling dismissed the fact that the Nazis burned books on early transgender healthcare during their raids on the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft as "a fever dream" on Twitter. Rowling went on to quote tweet another user's tweet which claimed trans people weren't targeted by the Nazis during the Holocaust. Her comments received widespread criticism, including from Alejandra Caraballo. Some, such as The Mary Sue, accused Rowling of Holocaust denial.

Not all of these are relevant to your question but they seem like the kind of thing you oughtta know

The guy used Xitter, a platform he owns, to promote a transphobic documentary made by Matt Walsh. Matt Walsh's Xitter bio famously begins with the words "theocratic fascist", or, y'know, Nazi. If Xitter has been used to push anti-trans propaganda made by Nazis, who says Starlink won't? I don't think Musk gives a xit about net neutrality.

But you can't yo ho on Denuvo unless a raging transphobe cracks it for you

I hate it. It should be melted down for scrap

That's fair. I was using a quick and simple soundbyte to push the idea that insulting people with mental illnesses is bad. When I take a nuanced and patient approach, people usually accuse me of defending abusers and go off on a wild tangent. I've found it's important to cement people's ideas of who I am and where my criticism is coming from within the first 10 seconds of the interaction. If it takes any longer than that, they assume since I dared to disagree with them that I must be the enemy, and they project everything they disagree with onto me.

Since you're clearly appreciative of nuance, I'll use the nuanced argument with you. While Elon Musk may have NPD, it would be medical malpractice for a registered psychiatrist to make that judgement without having had a session with him. There are regulations against that sort of behaviour for good reason. It's called the Goldwater Rule. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldwater_rule

The danger of diagnosing public figures without the proper rigour is that people's idea of what a pwNPD is are informed by stereotypes, and those stereotypes inform future armchair diagnoses. It becomes an ouroboros with no actual grounding in science. That's why everyone thinks psychopaths are killers, narcissists are abusers, and obsessive-compulsives are neat freaks. These stereotypes can encourage abuse by the public of people with mental disorders.

Thank you. I don't expect anyone to know that if they haven't been told. You're actually doing a million times better than a lot of people who get defensive in situations like this. Thanks for being an ally to the disabled community
