@masimatutu this is a bit of self promotion here, but this is exactly what I want to with #nodebbActivityPub. Local only threads with the ability to two-way federate post content to followers. Implementors should be able to load the entirety of a NodeBB thread in their own native interfaces, and vice versa.

#Mastodon is the elephant in the room, and many implementors cater towards its idiosyncrasies but it needn't be that way.

You certainly tried a lot harder than I did. I've said it before and I'll say it again: if HBO allowed us to buy just HBO I'd have paid up.

@CantSt0pPoppin looper is absolute garbage. Generative word salad that says exactly nothing.

@End0fLine yeah, this guy was out here doing his thing back before social media, and all there was were guestbooks lol

I think even his comment section was added after a lot of the content was already written, so it's got comments from lots of people doing rewatches.

@startrek Did anyone else read Jammer's Reviews as a kid? Did you know this guy's still pumping out reviews?

I wonder if the producers ever took his feedback seriously, or if he's even on their radar.

Waited four seasons for them to do this throwaway gag on #Enterprise but nope, too silly... but invalidating four seasons of Enterprise by revealing that the whole show was a holodeck program run by Riker... That's a-ok

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

@StillPaisleyCat okay, just lower decks now 😬

That depends on the system and whether it immediately responds to the challenge with a failure or locks out after a number of incorrect responses.

If LCARS is programmed to just immediately respond that the password is wrong then the real password could probably be brute force guessed in a matter of seconds given the computers in the 24th century...

Good, I did not like Disco. Cinematography, characters, plotlines, all of it.

@aufsichtsrat @ValueSubtracted I think it was a needless cinematographic choice to use slow mo there. With the excessive cuts, it shows a lack of fight choreography (contrast with Jackie Chan movies, Kingsman, etc.)

I'm still waiting for M'Benga to slap Spock silly.
