The newsletter is what it says on the tin: a recap of the articles we posted this week. Plus, a recap of our analytic, updates I made to the site's UX, and content I posted elsewhere. Is that marketing? I find my work very "exiting" 😉

  1. I don't see how this is a violation of privacy. If you're a privacy advocate you are very likely going to have a service like Proton that let's you create throwaway email addresses.

  2. I value keeping our content out of the hands of AI training data. Gates like that help prevent scrapers from stealing our content.

  3. I'd say more than half our content is 100% free with no subscription wall anyway.

If you don't like it, don't sign up for it. But dont pretend that it's a violation of your privacy. It's not. Lol

If Dash says "everyone's getting one," who are you to determine who belongs in that set or if Dash's lived experience and perceived uptick in PSP purchases is invalid? It's Dash's observation that many people are suddenly picking up used PSPs. Chill the heck out, my dawg. Comments like this make the world a genuinely worse place to be.

We emphatically disallow AI-written articles on our site.

I have personally witnessed dash's writing process through various drafts and through my editing passes in my role as Editor in Chief. Dash makes typos and other mistakes where LLMs don't.
