@[email protected] Amazing work!

If anything or anyone can save this expansion for me it's Peitha. Of course this would mean that she turns out to be the ultimate villain in the end, but we cannot stop trusting her nonetheless.

I've just watched WP's stream where he tries out the new weapons (beta) and I'm rather unimpressed. I'll wait until they are actually finished and we know what the final numbers are. What really irritates me are the alternate implementations of existing concepts like the combo fields on guardian pistol.

I've also seen suggestions to use IPv6 on those instances and switch the IP when being throttled.

Anyway, it looks like Reddit is determined to consolidate it's user base, i. e. focus on those who are barely smart enough to use a computer/smartphone but stupid enough to stay no matter how they are treated.

@[email protected] It's all over now ...

I'm happy to endorse a fellow Rust project, Lemmy! Lemmy is a federated, decentralized, free, and open source alternative to Reddit that has shot up in popularity since the Reddit API news.

Most instances I use are getting 429 errors today. Is there any plans for circumvention?

Lemmy is the New Reddit

As an alternative to Reddit and tedd.it, I invite you to try Lemmy, an alternative to Reddit built for the Fediverse. It's free, open source, and not controlled by a company or central entity. Many of those who left Reddit following the chaos have found their home there.

It seems like (at least) the unauthenticated endpoints of the reddit api are still working. and hence is libreddit as well as teddit.

I (Necropola) am writing this from an account on another instance since I can now no longer login at all. After going through the "forgot password" procedure I was logged in for a few minutes and then I was logged out again (cookie expired?).

After 3 password resets this does not work anymore either and I'm now permanently logged out.

POST https://lemmy.world/api/v3/user/login returns 404 in client.js

payload: {
  "username_or_email": "necropola",
  "password": "<my very secret password>"
}

Also,

  • the instance is painfully slow after the update to BE 0.18.1-rc.4 | UI 0.18.1-rc.7
  • federattion to other instances still does not work or rather takes ages, i. e. I have to "pull" (search for full URL) new comments in order to see them on other instances.
  • subscribing to a community on lemmy.world does also not work. At least not properly, It kinda worked after 10 tries, but I only see a few (new) posts. But I am able to manually "pull" (search for full URL) certain (older) posts and then add a comment.
  • and image transparency in post thumbnails no longer works.

Some instances (JSON) are still working, but probably not for very much longer, e. g.

This may help to get the GuildWars community here up and running.
