Microsoft system administrators have full access to any physical device information, this includes a report on new internal devices or changes. Your company may not be so serious about security, but why on earth are you willing to risk your livelihood on this?

I’ve been using ArchiveBox, this looks a bit more feature-full than ArchiveBox although it seems like ArchiveBox has been pretty stable. Anyone have experience with both, can vouch for the pros and cons?

I may take some time to compare the two. After taking another look at Linkwarden I get the impression it may handle archiving pages differently than ArchiveBox, which isn’t a bad thing it may just not fit the usage of everyone who uses ArchiveBox. The presentation and UI look really good, which is something I find ArchiveBox suffers a bit from.

In all seriousness, how is it the federal government can sanction illegal activity for corporations such as wiretapping? This is what Richard Nixon and his administration got slammed for not even 50 years ago, now it’s par for the course.

Yeah, Federal law is pretty lax on any privacy protections. You would think that wiretapping laws would carry over into digital communications such as cellular usage, but I guess that doesn’t make much sense to the legal experts that run this country.

There are no other users at all? Seems like a lot of stuff simply wouldn’t work without a single non-root user, not to mention this is a pretty bad security stance considering the only user is the most powerful one.

If you do have another user on the instance you can su as that other user, nobody for example, from the root account. Run ‘cat /etc/passwd’ and you will see every available user on the instance.

In 2020 the Democrats scrambled for a viable candidate and somehow Joe Biden was the best they could give us, and it was an absolute gamble. His victory in the 2020 election was dangerously overstated and the danger of a repeat of 2016 in 2024 was ignored.

Unfortunately, I think the biggest argument for cars came mostly from Western countries and their quest for independence and individualism. Hindsight is 20/20 with this one, if people can’t see how detrimental cars have become it’s because they cling tightly to their “personal freedom” to drive wherever they want whenever they want.

I’m testing out Mlem on iOS and so far it is a much cleaner experience than even the desktop version of Lemmy’s webapp. Lots of nice QoL features.
