Because it works. I don’t have to figure out what (A01839: Device error has occurred.) means or weird Android nonsense all the time. If I wanted a constant project I already have plenty with work and actual things I enjoy wasting my time on. If it’s my computer I can mess around, if it’s my phone it’s just a pain in the ass. Even Samsungs can get weird like that sometimes, although the lower quality and price Android phones are the worst for it.

There are no rules against non-English posts. If you can’t understand it, don’t vote against it. That’s a discriminatory reaction, just keep scrolling if you don’t read Japanese. If the mods want to restrict languages, they have every ability to do so.

Anyone know the easiest way to short this stock?

Dealing with an Excel spreadsheet is already a living hell, what’s a little extra pain and suffering going to do?

Never say never. The phones in our hands are orders of magnitudes more powerful than the computer that took people into space and enabled landing on the moon. Eventually even today’s technology will be obsolete and potentially even easy to replicate in a garage. 2nm processes may be difficult, but 40nm process is certainly not impossible for hobbyists of the future.

Edit: An article about a tinkerer currently using older tech to make semiconductors in his parents’ garage.

If you aren’t lactose intolerant, this is something I just recently learned: chew your food very well. I know, it sounds like a given, but our stomachs and intestines don’t have teeth or any effective way to grind our food down into tiny pieces. Even something that seems softer, like cheese pizza, is a lot of work to break down into digestible pieces past our mouths. To some extent I have caused myself needless suffering by underchewing my food.

Weird way to think about it “drink your food, chew your drinks” let your saliva work on the stuff too.

They don’t give us free games with the OS anymore but TempleOS has HOLY games

And at this point the cost difference couldn’t possibly be so stark that they have to make it a great leap in price. I think they offer these 8GB models for non power-users. People doing spreadsheets and presentations all day, but honestly even then 8GB of memory just seems like they’re cheaping out.

If the large wooden horse is full of men in metal armor, purely hypothetically speaking, would the loop still not pick up the large wooden horse?

When I was growing up, my mom would do this all the time. My approach was mostly the same, she would shout, “Come here!” and I would request a reason. Most of the time she said she needed help and it would turn out to be nothing.

As I got older, I realized she was actually trying to connect with me because I was distancing myself. I don’t know if this is also what’s going on with OP and partner, and I won’t assume that’s the case. Sometimes people don’t know how to properly vocalize when they’re lonely and want to spend time with you.

I love this, the idea that the hardware is done once the software gives out is asinine. It’s also what companies have been selling us on for decades now. It’s long past time to rethink the idea of what hardware lifespan really looks like

The same cannot be said about nano
