I'd forgotten about this option (thanks for the post), just got my s9 last week. I went into the watch app to set it up, and under Gestures, the only option I have is "Cover to Mute."
I checked and phone (14 Pro Max) is up to date (iOS 17.1.1), and watch is up to date (watchOS 10.1.1).
Any ideas why I can't Gesture? Is there some other setting I need to adjust first?
Glad you and your family are OK! 💖 That's why I'm upgrading to the 9. I changed from Fit Bit to Apple Watch 7 when the fall detection came out (I solo hike and SUP). I have a great car, but I do not have crash detection. I live in SoCal, and the drivers here ... SUCK.
I have a dress watch my dad left me when he passed. I wear it sometimes on my dominant hand. Always wear the Apple Watch, though.
I have bad pollen allergies. Sometimes, after hiking or SUP, I'll have issues with things getting trapped beneath the watch/band and my skin. My topical reactions often look like that. Be sure and (carefully) clean the underside of the watch to get anything off that might recontaminate.
I do not use it on long hikes/SUPs to preserve battery life. But I do use it otherwise.
I just bought a 9 (currently have a 7) on sale for Black Friday at Wal Mart for $329, that helps.
