Lay down for a minute, close your eyes and just let your brain babble about shit for a bit. Then, pick one at random and try to start it. Maybe try to find something engaging to think about, because then you'll be more comfortable with doing stuff.

I'm also using Syncthing to sync up my notes between my laptop and phone. It's been great! Less Google doc use.

Since I'm a little embarrassed by the mistake, what do you look for in an incremental game? I can look through the ones I've played for Android and see if any could work?

Oh, right, so I was so excited to mention it I forgot it's not a mobile game >.<

It's on steam, but yeah, my bad.

This is really neat. I'm so glad Ironsworn was made, there's been a lot of neat stuff to come out of it's sphere.

Thanks for posting this. I really enjoyed getting to play Magic again thanks to Forge, and Anuto is a really solid tower defense.

Hey, it's a paid game (non-freemium) but you could try Orb of Creation. I think there's a free demo on itch. One of the most fascinating incremental games I've played. I actually played all the way up to the current content's end.

Eagerly awaiting updates.

I'm starting to set up the groundwork to do freelance work. Not sure how well I'll do, but it's a strong step towards a happier me.

Hello all!

I've been trying to ween myself off of the news cycle lately, so I've been looking into apps that I can use instead. Right now, I'm trying out WikWok, which is a free app that presents you with random wikipedia articles in a feed you can swipe through. It's been nice because theres fewer jumpscare news articles and it's kind of soothing.

I learned about a kind of pottery called Fretwork because of this. It's a type of historical pottery where they put ground glass into the clay to create something visually quite similar to porcelain.

What are apps (Android, IOS, w/e) that you are using to manage stuff or entertain yourself in a healthy way?

There's this app on F-Droid called WikWok. It basically presents you with random wikipedia articles in a kind of feed like with TikTok.

If I were you, I'd download it and scroll until something that you find interesting appears and then read a bit of it. Then ask yourself a question.

This usually gets me up and pacing, and once I'm pacing I want to fidget with stuff so I go do chores.

May not work for you, but that's what I got.

I really enjoy Diablo Swing's music. They have such a unique vibe that I really like. My partner and I met partially because of the Balrog Boogie!

Well, what are the moral concerns of piracy?

The primary ones are purely the product of how our economic system is structured. If people didn't need to make money to live, then the ability to mass duplicate artistic works would be a purely positive thing to me. I think art has inherent worth, and that people should engage with it.

There's nothing inherently immoral about piracy, only the external factors imposed by capitalism cause it to be problematic.

I'm glad someone is fighting the good fight. It's becoming more and more obvious that the prevalence of these tool in academic circles may cause more harm than good.

Hey all, I have ADHD and insomnia! I've tried some things, but, I'm really hoping someone has advice on how to keep a schedule. I always end up slipping around until I have to do some kind of grueling "all-dayer" or something to put myself back on track.

Thoughts? Tricks? Wisdom? I'm all ears.

Hey all,

I'm new here and I wanted to start a discussion about TTRPGs that people enjoy. I really like seeing people talk passionately about those sorts of things. I'm, personally, a big fan of games by Jenna Moran (Nobilis, Glitch, etc) and have a lot of positive experience with certain Powered by the Apocalypse Games. I'm also fascinated by a lot of OSR content because I feel like it has the potential to capture some of the more interesting parts of early D&D (my partner and I discuss AD&D quite a bit).

I used to write homebrew for Exalted and I've played some WoD games, but it's not my true passion, except maybe for Changeling the Lost. I had a long-running game of Ars Magica 5e a while ago, which was a tremendous experience and really ignited my interest in more dense, bean-countery games that I had previously been discounting in favor of lighter, more narrative-drama experiences.

I'm not as big a fan of D&D as some, but my partner and I did meet because of 3.5e homebrew, so I do have some positive nostalgia.

Anyway, what about you- what TTRPGs are you interested in? Which ones have you had long or interesting games with? What are you looking forward to playing, or setting up to play?
