So i'm looking to buy a wireless router or access point for my house. The one built into my modem doesn't reach all the way to the back of my house, and I heard that extenders are not really great. I need one access point (meaning 1 ID to connect to when i'm at home, it can be multiple devices if necessary - and maybe extendable to outside to the back of my garden?). What should I buy to wire into my modem via an ethernet cable?

As far as privacy goes, is there something that can enhance my privacy, as in, not send data to the ISP, or have some kind of virtual cage if I want to keep some data from exiting my home? For example, I have a robot vacuum with a camera in it. Can I block certain ports/ip's with a router so it cannot communicate outside of my home?

Also, I want a kinda dumb device, that doesn't need any cloud subscription or questionable company that could use the data it can gather..

If the privacy part is harder to solve, any good recommendation for a good signal wifi router is welcome!

should I get one like the TP-Link Archer AX18?
