Shit man, BaconReader was the first Reddit app I downloaded. I eventually settled on RiF but this is just sad.

Fuck spez.

At this point, everyone should know first gen Google hardware is always a bit rough. And we know how foldables are more fragile than normal phones.

That's a potent mix for disaster.

Woah so I guess gutting your engineering staff has consequences?!

As for the free speech claims. I guess it's code for Elon doesn't want to pay people to moderate the content.

At least one promoted post everywhere.

Plus most of them are garbage crypto pump and dump schemes.

The app also heats up my phone like games do.

RiF and Sync do not. Because they are made by people who care about user experience.

On a whim I decided to give the official app a try because a lot of people will be forced to use it, if they decide to stay on Reddit.

Holy hell, it's just slow. Can't scroll through a subreddit without annoying hitches and stutters. Comments aren't any better also.

On the other hand, Sync is just fucking gorgeous and runs immensely better than the encumbered official app.

How can apps made by small teams or even a single person be better optimized than one supposedly made by a larger team with a larger development budget?

I think their games and company would improve under Microsoft.

Is that a given? Redfall (I know it's Bethesda) didn't exactly blew everyone's socks off.

This is expected but I think we'll see be seeing more "lower quality" submissions.

A lot of people want this deal to go through so they get CoD and Diablo. While that is an enticing proposition but am not fond of Microsoft just gobbling up large studios just because their first party games aren't up to snuff.

YMMV but I never got into trouble for torrenting.

Of course, not every mod team is great. But I mostly hung around small to medium-sized subs for my hobbies and never had an issue with their moderators.
