I've been lurking in this subreddit for a bit over a year. In the process, I have learned a ton about self-hosting services and how to manage them. Today, I decided to show my appreciation for what I've learned here.
My current setup is made up of piecemeal parts I was gifted or found for cheap on Craigslist. It is by no means efficient or elegant, but it's allowing me to use the information I find here to learn way more about networking, self-hosting, and management than I ever could. I've stumbled many times, looking for a solution to a particular issue with my setup. Nine times out of ten, the answer has been addressed and solved here.
I am extremely grateful to all the knowledgeable people here who have shared personal projects, helped other Redditors through their problems, or otherwise contributed to the knowledge base that is contained here. For every person who engages here and receives help for their specific issues, know that there are almost definitely many others like me who stay silent and learn from all the shared knowledge shared in this subreddit.
Thank you for everything that you all do to make the self-hosted community accessible for those of us who want to jump in.
