"In Australia, prices for pharmaceutical medicines are capped at $31.60 if listed on the PBS. A 2024 report by research organisation Rand found that US drug prices were, on average, about 370% higher than in Australia and 278% above the OECD average"

The American pharmaceutical system is broken. The U.S. spends significantly more on developing drugs than other developed nations, partly due to unfettered regulation. This spending is attributed to exploitative capitalism and a lack of price controls. The fragmented nature of the U.S. healthcare system created this monster, and now these mega-corporations can't stop the "sugar high." It's total BS.

The one I use is based on an amalgamation of Lydia's and Michael Chiarello's recipes although Lidia Bastianich's Sunday Bolognese is all you need. Milk is the key in my opinion, good wine and time.

They are hoping seniors won't notice. The "One Big Beautiful Bill" gives a temporary tax deduction for seniors over 65 until 2028, but this is mostly twisted words. It won't wipe out taxes on Social Security for everyone. If you're under 65 or making too much, good luck getting any relief at all.

Iran fired missiles Monday at a U.S. base in Qatar, according to multiple reports, defying President Donald Trump after he warned against Iranian retaliation for U.S. strikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran.

Fox News reports that Donald Trump may consider using nuclear weapons to eliminate Iran’s Fordo nuclear facility

The U.S. military has reservations regarding the success of using a bunker-buster bomb, a non nuclear weapon, to eliminate Iran’s Fordo nuclear facility, buried deep in a mountain. Two defense officials were reportedly briefed that only a tactical nuclear weapon could reach the facility.

US customs and the BS that goes along with it, once an unavoidable hub for Canadian travelers flying to Central and South America, will now, this year, have three airlines—Air Canada, Air Transat, and Avianca—all of which will significantly expand their routes to avoid any need to touch down in the United States by the end of the year.

Canada isn't backing down.

Hundreds of international students in the US are getting an email from the US Department of State (DOS) asking them to self-deport owing to campus activism. Immigration attorneys’ contacted by TOI affirmed this development and added a few Indian students may also be at the receiving end of such emails – for something as innocuous as sharing a social media post.

It is not just international students who physically participated in campus activism but also those who shared or liked ‘anti-national’ posts that are the target of these emails, said an immigration attorney.

This crackdown is based on social-media reviews being conducted by DOS (which includes Consulate officials). Thus, even new student applications be it for an F (academic study visa), M (vocational study visa) or J (exchange visa) will also come under such social media scrutiny.

Applicants will be denied the opportunity to study in the US.

"The administration has downplayed the importance of the text messages inadvertently sent to The Atlantic’s editor in chief." By Jeffrey Goldberg and Shane Harris.

“In light of statements today from multiple administration officials, including before the Senate Intelligence Committee, that the information in the Signal chain about the Houthi strike is not classified, and that it does not contain ‘war plans,’ The Atlantic is considering publishing the entirety of the Signal chain.”

I'm sure there's no problem here for the company.

Step one: Overinflate the assets of the bail bond company.

Step two: Claim the assets of the company and get loans based on those inflated values.

Step three: If found to be fraudulent in said valuation, take it to court.

Step four: Go back to step one.

Not really a win for the casual web user - What Google will stop doing is selling web ads targeted to individual users’ browsing habits, and its Chrome browser will no longer allow cookies that collect that data for the means of selling to third party advertisers.

Meanwhile, Google will still track and target users on mobile devices, and it will still target ads to users based on their behavior on its own platforms, which make up the majority of its revenue and won’t be affected by the change.

Ad companies that rely on cookies will simply have to find another way to target users.

Oh yes the Chinese Communist Party, the cake and eat it too party, where it somehow is able to access global markets and benefit from international trade rules, freely able to meddle in international affairs while embellishing its own interests.

It's mind blowing how the desperation of late stage capitalism allows the CCP to operate within these frameworks.

Threats of violence, sounds like a Jordan MOB call. Guess Jimmy hasn’t changed his attitude much since helping to orchestrate January 6th for Trump, voting against election results, defending Trump during his impeachment, opposing Trumps investigations, voting to repeal the Affordable Care Act, backing Trumps ridiculous Mexican border wall, backing Trump's efforts to roll back regulations on environmental regulations, financial regulations, and labor regulations... etc etc etc
