June, 2008? Wtf man he’s had lots of time to grow up and change his views. Look at him. He’s a baby.

But anyway, I hope he doesn’t become PM regardless. He still seems like a shit.

Thank you that is tremendously helpful! I expect this post will help others that come along.

So confirming for your setup, you do need Remote Access enabled to use 100.x while home on your local network on wifi as well (and of course while away on cellular).

That’s how it seems to be for me, so I think I’m set up correctly. I don’t believe I’ve opened any unusual ports or anything like that.

Not quite sure I followed all that. I’ve disabled a specific white list for now. When I have access to another computer I will confirm I can’t connect unless I am running Tailscale with the appropriate IP addresses.

Thanks for the explanation. That part is clear, and I can access the server/Mac computer from my iPhone using the 100.x IP address. But if I’m on cellular I need to have Remote Access Settings enabled in order to connect.

Edit: Actually on Wifi too on the same local network I need remote access enabled if I’m using the 100.x IP addresses. Using the usual IP pre-Tailscale I don’t need remote access on wifi.

Has anyone tried Tailscale to connect to Jellyfin?

I am not very knowledgeable about networking. I found I can connect to my Jellyfin server if I set under Networking “Allow remote connections” and in the remote IP address filter I put the remote IP that Tailscale assigns to my iPhone.

Is this how it’s supposed to work? I didn’t expect to have to use Remote Access Settings. I thought the point of Tailscale is to make it like you are on a local network.

I should have bought it when the lifetime was like $40. I used to use it. Had some difficulties with the UI so moved on. Was hoping it would go away instead of being the best choice at 3 times the price. 😖

I use Colibri when I prefer to drag a folder to play.

I used to use Swinsian, and plan to go back to it. Have you tried the beta?

I was using Music, but I’m finding it’s randomly deleting my local files. Nice feature.

Doppler looks pretty, but it’s not very useful for me. Not good for metadata management and I don’t have a lot of space on my iPhone so the functionality of it for now…

Plexamp I like the ability to stream my library (rather than Apple Music versions of my library), but on MacOS the UI is counterintuitive and again metadata management isn’t there so Swinsian seems the best.

For anyone using Apple TV (I’m on an older 4 model not 4K) - does it work for you generally? I found a lot of titles just show black screen unless I enable force direct play.

They may be HEVC/265 encodes and I don’t think my system supports that fully. Not sure that’s the issue otherwise I wouldn’t expect them to direct play.

Anyway, I’ll continue to experiment, but in the meantime thought I’d ask.

I came to the same conclusion, albeit a bit too late. I have all my regular immunizations and am no skeptic, but this one I now lump in the same category as the regular flu vaccine. Thanks but I’ll pass, but I understand others may choose for various valid reasons. This issue brings out the kooks though.

Yes, my first vaccine was Pfizer and second was Moderna, which caused heart issues. I went to a heart specialist and was diagnosed with pericarditis from the vaccine. It took awhile for symptoms to improve (pain, shortness of breath etc.). I feel lucky though.

An unusual amount of people had severe symptoms in our area after the Moderna vaccine. Healthy people in their 30s for the most part. Our electrician had a heart attack and a few people died. Needless to say I didn’t go for a third. We know a guy who technically died from it, but he was revived - they got his heart going.

I think the counsellor has it right. Letting hundreds of thousands of people build front parking pads isn’t the way.

Hey all, my wife is interested in a turntable that sounds good, but can take some punishment (i.e. kids can use it). I'm a lapsed audiophile, but never did invest seriously in vinyl. I went the SACD route (RIP).

Anyway, what would you recommend? Preferably under $500 CDN, so maybe we'd be looking at lightly used.
