They have added the unlimited data into the cable modem pricing. So if you get the non bundled version it coats $5-$10 more per month for unlimited data. You’re better off keeping the gateway, turning off all its functions and enabling pass through. Then you could use your own equipment.

If he has the unlimited add in it will end up costing him more money per month to have his own equipment.

Maybe they’ll add some shielding to stop all the signal issues.

This is standard. Mine worked great when I got a new samsung tv. Then it just stopped after an updated version. Everything else works with it except the AppleTV.
