I got banned from about 15 subreddits I never even knew existed once by calling out a transphobic dogwhistle, and when I inquired about the bans, the mods insinuated I was a child molester and neo-nazi.

Reddit mods don't need to follow any sort of logic.

And confidently asserting someone is a dick because they got banned from a subreddit is hilarious, and should probably prompt some self-reflection.

Think of it like when you know you need to have the car keys taken from grandpa because he's an actual danger to himself and others.

But it's easier said than done, especially when grandpa is surrounded by people who either refuse to acknowledge his bad driving, or actively encourage him to go out and drive.

Also grandpa is armed and there's no guarantee that any of the people around him will stop him from shooting you and everyone in the neighborhood for trying.

And don't forget that half your siblings are actively cheering grandpa on and calling you slurs for even suggesting something is wrong, and they are also armed and aching for an excuse to shoot you. Your own gun isn't much use since you aren't close to grandpa, and by yourself you can accomplish little to nothing, and you can't reliably call your saner siblings to help out without drawing grandpa's caregivers attention.

The whole government is one giant dementia patient and needs to be burned to the ground so we can build something better, but there's no guarantee any of your siblings will make it or even be successful.

Unrelated, my mental health is great these days.

Executives should be forced work their lowest paid company position, and be dumped in an apartment with absolutely nothing.

See how long they survive.

You can talk to me about my work-life balance when I'm not putting the healthy option back because it's more expensive than the cheap unhealthy ultra processed bullshit and I can't justify the expense.

She called the Asian girl "ching chong", she called one of the few black people in it "shackle bolt", and she might as well have called the Irish kid "Irish O'Carbomb" given his name an propensity for unintentionally setting things on fire.

Don't even get me started on the goblins.

She straight up admitted lycanthropy is HIV, and all werewolves are interested j is spreading their disease by attacking anyone nearby, one werewolf specifically targets children, if I remember correctly.

The only gay characters I am aware of, one is a villain, and the other other is "one of the good ones" who never acted on it after a point and just stayed a celibate single.

The only non-magical users in the magic world "squibs", basically disabled people, are portrayed as shitty humans. Every summer Harry got left with ms fig who was "a mad old lady", and the school caretaker Filch, who is a sadist that welcomes umbridge with open arms, a parasite who latches on to whoever benefits him most.

I'm sure there's others I've never caught or thought about.

It bothers me that it doesn't say "build a fucking wall over the river"

What is a bridge if not a slotted wall over water?

Note: slot size may vary

O'Neill, blowing up a fleet:

Carter, blowing up a sun:

McKay blowing up 4/5 of a solar system:

Mckay, almost blowing up an entire alternate parallel reality:

Mckay and Carter, using nanites:

All of them, doing all of this whenever they feel like:

"Those torpedoes are cute. Got any naquadria?"

requires like 100 psychics a day

1,000 per day. Every day. For Ten. Thousand. Years.

So you know, just a drop in the bucket, no big deal.

And to be fairrrrrrr.... The emperor himself wants no religion at all, and it's the corrupt and zealous officials that spread the "the emperor is a god" thing, he straight up destroyed a planet because a chapter of marines converted it to Emperorism once. That was before he got stuck on his death throne, obviously.

Anyone who genuinely admires ANY of the factions in 40k just doesn't understand it.

They all suck. There are no good guys. Honestly I'd say the closest thing to good guys there are would be the tyanids, because they're just doing what tyanids do. You don't get mad at cows for being cows. Or wolves for being wolves. They are what they are and they do what they do. It isn't malicious intent.

I've seen a lot of comments on various websites lately lamenting that there isn't a judge "or somebody" that's stepping in to say "no"

Like... We're it.

The people that could have done something say back and handed the reigns over, because anything else would be "improper" and not following the rules.

And the people in the most effective positions to "fight back" in any sort of legal manner have all been rolling over like a good dog waiting for a treat, or quitting "in protest" before anything happens which just opens up a spot for a loyal stooge.

So there's nobody coming to save you as you watch from the side. We are it.

Organize with people who share similar goals. But be smart about it so you don't get raided by the alphabet squad for being ~~too supportive of black people and trans people~~ a "terrorist organization"

Be the change you want to see in the world. Because republicunts and magats are trying to ruin it before you realize you can help change it.

And when your very existence becomes illegal, why bother with the social contract at all.

The angled DOD seal to reflect Walter's slightly down turned head is a nice touch

People talk about being there “for” someone. Here being there “with” him is more important.

When I'm depressed, having someone sitting on the couch in my living room scrolling on their phone is infinitely more meaningful to me than someone who is miles away and texting me a lot or offering to help with things. It's probably part of my neurodivergence but having the person close in proximity while at least sort of paying attention to the room makes me feel less alone than having 10 people trying to check in on me all day.
