Is there a place I can go and find out what each button mean? I am trying to figure my way around, and I am a tech-idiot. Like, what does boost mean?

I think r/aww is also going for the John Oliver thirst (and I am absolutely all for it), And r/wellthatsucks is now all about hoovers.... and the mods were throwing out awards left, right and centre, that gives people premium access.
I meant to ask, why do I get the feeling there is some concentrated effort to try to downplay those people trying to protest?
I see some of the threads on the subs doing the 'alternative protests', and some comments were downvoted massively just for joining in or showing support.
I think I can understand how confusing this is for people. It took me a while to get used to Reddit originally, and now it is another different environment.
I am kind of running to here because I tried going to Discord and found myself getting rather confused with the many channels/servers (?). I am a tech-idiot. I just like to be in a place where I could see interesting threads to join and chat. I used to go to forums, but those forums slowly died after social media platforms came into prominence. I miss those friendly forum environment, and I struggle to keep afloat in a world that seemed to be moving a lot faster than my brain can follow. :(
I just joined here on the recommendations of another user on Reddit.
At least, I think this interface isn't too much of a shock to the system. Give me time to get used to the whole new world.
At this point of time, isn't it time to see how many subs we can get banned from before the whole thing goes down the shithole?
I do wonder what would John Oliver think about his sudden popularity? There may be a writer's strike going on, but surely, he must hear of the sudden surge of photoshopped sexiness?
