I don't see how it could be scumbag. Fear of sharks != fear of people in very obvious and unrealistic shark costumes. People who are afraid of ghosts don't have panic attacks from seeing people in ghost costumes on Halloween.

I don't think it ever actually promoted eugenics. It just explored the natural consequences of two facts in a comedic way:

  • Intelligence has a hereditary component to it.
  • Stupid people have more kids.

It never tries to push any eugenics-based agenda. It would have if they tried to say that dumb people shouldn't be allowed to have kids, but they never went anywhere near that.

Maybe, but there's also a more long-term force in the other direction. Bringing content from other platforms to Lemmy means that Lemmy has more content and people are less likely to go elsewhere to get their fill. If the best of Reddit is available on Lemmy, why bother going to Reddit? It's the same thing as how Reddit used to have lots of Twitter screenshots on it back when Twitter was worth screenshotting. The people taking the screenshots likely use both anyway and wouldn't stop if they weren't allowed to post Reddit stuff here.

A screenshot doesn't give them traffic. A link does.

Some people don't like her because she makes a lot of comics that are like, "Haha, I have portrayed myself as the chad and you as the wojak, therefore I am superior!" Without having any actual comedic value. Example 1, Example 2 (both are reddit links, you have been warned).

She also threatened r/bonehurtingjuice with legal action to make them ban remixes of her comics, something not even Stonetoss (the Nazi comic everyone hates) has done.

It should be illegal to revoke or modify people's purchases. All games should be able to be kept and played using the version you bought it at except maybe MMOs due to technical reasons. Forced updates and DRM need to be outlawed.

This is the answer I was looking for. Thanks! A simple "no" wasn't very informative.

Steam isn't perfect, but it's sooooo much better than something like EGS or some Ubisoft/EA first-party launcher loaded with ads.

I think we need laws against platforms censoring discussion of their rivals, particularly with shadow bans and shadow delistings.

Pronouns are optional. Nobody is forcing you to list them.

I've noticed that lemmy.world is delisted from most instance lists, so it's interesting that they'd choose that one. Thank you for the answer!

Tankies are so annoying. Authoritarians in general, really.
