Hey community, I have been having a hell of a time trying to figure out why my vm keeps crashing... I am currently using Proxmox 8.0 and have a few Windows VMs using GPU Passthroughs, so I can use them like normal pcs on the go! Though recently I got myself a NAS and I have been trying to figure out why I am crashing constantly without any notice or crash logs...

Since I am using Parsec, I am unable to see any blue screens on the system. I logged in to proxmox and switched off the gpu and used just the screen, and I'll sometimes get a blue screen, but it's too fast for me to screenshot. I've been using a software called "Who Crashed" to check my BSOD's and nothing is showing anything important.... Event log shows that the system has rebooted unexpectedly by itself. I am assuming this could be an issue with Windows on Proxmox 8.0? I've never seen this happen before when using Proxmox 7.4, but I am unable to revert at this point.

TLDR: Windows crashes / reboots instantly after using my network share from time to time... I have no clue why it would be doing this, but it's happening and is really messing with what I need to be working on!

So it seems like I’m gonna just have to wipe my boot drive and install 7.4 Prox as now I’m suffering crashing when I don’t utilize the graphics card fully either now…

Last time I shucked some drives people recommended all over, I had 4/5 drive be SMR and never got the performance I needed. Wasted so much money on that project...

I'm planning to add a few more 18TB IronWolf Pro drives to my current array and I noticed a dramatically odd set of pricing for this year‘s Black Friday sales since I currently have 18 TB drives I’m not looking to spend on 20 TB drives but looking at the other priced hard discs I am very astonished to see that certain drives are priced incorrectly when somebody were priced a lot lower a few months ago! (Example: 10TB Ironwolf Pro’s used to go for $310 Canadian Dollar a few months ago now is over $400!)

I noticed that American sites have these for far cheaper, but the import fees and shipping just seems to be too expensive for me. I’m planning to probably wait until server Park deals runs a black Friday sale (from some of the communities opinions it seems like they don’t often do a massive one…) someone’s starting out with their media server and have a few cold storage discs. I kind of find it hard to believe that these are the best prices these storefront can give us…

Do any canadian data hoarders have any better ideas on where I should purchase from? I just can’t believe that these discs are so expensive!

I'm planning to add a few 18TB IronWolf Pro drives to my array, and I've noticed some peculiar pricing on Newegg's current sale. The pricing for other size drives seems off too. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm considering recertified drives from Server Part Deals on Black Friday but also eyeing some new ones. Strangely, 20TB drives are similarly priced. Ideally, I'd stick to the same capacity, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. Canadian dollars before tax, just to clear up any confusion. Thanks!
