Well, first off, I'd make it a Space Western.

Why would I assume the title is accurate? I've never heard this criticism of fiat currency before, since the whole point is that it doesn't rely on on scarcity but on the stability of the issuing body. Can you explain, or is that outside the scope of this thread?

I ended up with a pink-and-purple triple mohawk, my clothes in shreds, and my skin splattered with four different colors of dye. There was exactly one Polaroid taken of the final result and I looked like a plus-sized goblin. Sadly, the photo is lost to time.

Hating comic sans is a meme. It was overused and thus received backlash, and now the backlash has been going on longer that the trend it was in response to.

It turns out that lots of people are actually against recognizing human rights, as long as their rights are protected.

Most professional kitchens I've worked in don't use all-purpose cleaners, they have specific products for different surfaces. Cutting boards get the three-sink detergent, rinse, disinfectant. Stainless steel tables get stainless steel cleaner and steel wool with a cotton towel finish. Floors get mopped with floor cleaner. Walls get the same disinfecting scrub that's used to clean the tables in the dining room and the bar.

You have it backwards. Antiwork was always anti-work and was gradually rehabilitated into also including content about work reform.

My current job tried to get me to sign one that would prohibit me both from discussing the content of the NDA, and had a noncompete rider that was extremely aggressive.

I told them I wouldn't sign it, and it was unenforceable in this state anyway, so they might as well drop it. They did, but the whole thing made me super leery of working here. Corporate bullshit all the way down.

Lead exposure in childhood is one thing we know leads to poorer impulse control; that is to say, being short-sighted and selfish.

How to walk on ice is a big one. How to cross a street is another one here in Chicago (hint: look at the cars, not the lights).

Go to the communities page for your instance, set it to all, and scroll through the first several pages adding anything that sounds interesting. Don't worry if there are duplicates, sub them all. The search for any favorite topics and add those communities, too. Then browse by subscribed»new going forward.

You can also check out [email protected] for communities still getting off the ground.

Oh! And when linking, do it like I did above; this link works no matter what instance you're on.

Right now it only list English and Undetermined, but I also want to be able to interact with content in Spanish, Latin, and Esperanto. But mostly Spanish.

If you're like me, you might have grown up reading these kind of jokes in the back of Boys Life magazine.

There was a thriving Tom Swifty community on reddit, and as one of its most frequent submitters I took it on myself to recreate it here, and invite over the other most prolific submitters. At least one has already joined, why don't you come join us, too?

So, for example, my other account is @[email protected].

How do I access that profile page from this account (@[email protected])?
