I feel like you are missing the forest for the trees here. You keep fixating on this like some kind of "gatcha" using the exact same phrasing as his defenders who claimed he did the Nazi salute because he's autistic.

I personally do not give a flying fuck on what "mental disorders" he has. Also, autism is a developmental disability, not a mental disorder. There is a difference.

As far as "politicizing narcissism", how is pointing out he has traits associated with politicizing it? Like, he's a fucking fascist who is using the absurd level of wealth he's accumulated to basically buy the government and get unelected power he is using to dismantle any agency that benefits the masses or has investigated him for business violations.

That's on top of the social issues where he and Trump are trying to make it harder for minority groups to exist in the world.

It's been well researched that conservatives tend to have many more narcissistic traits because the entire political ideology hinges on hierarchy and a "fuck you, I got mine" mentality. It's also been well researched that CEOs are all more likely to have psychopathic traits.

It's not "politicizing" pointing out traits someone has to explain what they are doing in politics or harm they are causing in general. If someone is a self-centered asshole who act like they are better than everyone else and uses that as the basis for denying other people rights then I don't really care what the reason behind their self-centered nature is. An asshole is still an asshole. There is no justification or excuse for what they do.

You are basically saying "you're the bigot" when I point out that a fascist is a fascist. You ignore the substance of what I and others are saying to just attack us and hand wave any issues we have with Musk.

Again, if you feel it's more important to tone police us because we aren't using language you like when we talk about a literal fascist that is causing uncountable harm and death, who is supporting and pushing for multiple genocides, who sees his children as property and is using a toddler as a human shield, then I don't think we are going to find common ground here.

Musk's actions are indefensible. The only people I've seen argue against criticism of him are his sycophants. You are doing "so much for the tolerant left" bullshit. My only question is if you are actually one of his cult members or just misguided.

But in the end it doesn't matter. If you defend a fascist you are a fascist....

The culture war has always been a manufactured distraction creates by conservatives to make people blame the powerless instead of the wealthy for their problems.

As a trans person I am fully aware of the culture war because it effects me directly. I was aware of it long before I considered I might be trans.

But the culture war is still a distraction. They want to blame the economy and stuff on everything but "corporate greed".

But as much if a distraction as it is it sti does harm. It still kills people.

They are mostly all careerists who focus on who's "turn" it is while they are one foot in the grave. Its a major issue on why we have the current situation.

The fact that hold onto power they are either unwilling or too scared to use is infuriating.

Republicans did the same, both "legally dubious" and blatantly illegal.

It wouldn't be productive, but I've been thinking of texting some things at my mom. She hasn't been hostler to me since I came out, but also not accepting with misgendering and dead naming.

I know she voted for him before, and I'm pretty sure she did this time. With the way things are going I will probably never see her again. I want her to know why.

You can have any political opinion you want, but that doesn't mean the rest of us have to give it any validity or even listen to it.

Especially if that political opinion is just hate for racial, sexual, and gender minorities or women at large. You can make your own instance of hate, and many have, but the rest of us don't have to join and get exposed to disrespect and death threats.

YouTube is a bit of an issue as unlike the others there's a lot of content and information you can't get elsewhere.

I've been considering using a proxy to scrape and download subscriptions and add them to a personal server. Probably not practical to do for everything though with how much space that would be.

At the very least see if there's a wrapper that can strip out a lot of content and just show the stuff I want to watch VS all the nonsense they fire at you.

So, I think that lost will be so long it's basically "everyone".

For the average person, even among conservatives, nobody likes their health insurance. Even if they've had a good experience with theirs, they know peoe who haven't.

Kids are not property. They are their own people and whether you like it or not they can be gay or trans. You can't beat them out of being queer.

If your kid doesn't feel safe telling you who they are the that's on you.

For me it was that I didn't have the information I needed to process what I was feeling and deal with what was wrong. I didn't have the language to even describe that something was wrong.

I know many others in my situation that ended up with worse coping mechanisms in the same circumstance. Heavy drinking and drug use is common in the community.

That said, addictions can be physical. There's a reason you have to ween people off of certain substances because withdrawal can kill them.

There can be mental addictions, but older generations don't tend to care unless it's something they don't like.

I don't feel like I was addicted to games growing up, but I know I was using them for escapism. Nobody from the outside would have looked any farther than "you spend X amount a day playing games", and ignore why I felt the need for it.

Too many self important people act like addiction is a personal failing when it's usually somone trying to find some relief in a society that has failed them.
