I was always wondering this. Imagine a steep descent. What is better for brake wear - braking constantly or more powerful just at the end? Anybody knows? Goes for both rim and disc brakes

Ah, ok, I thought you were taking about Windows not being able to run CPU at full speed. But yes, it's certainly a different OS with ups and downs.

What is your problem with Windows, though?

Yea, I can envision public parking spots around apartments having slow chargers - 8kW something, so the cars can be charged over night for a similar price you have at home. However, that would required government motivation (wisdom) first and upgrade of electricity network which isn't able to sustain such power. Neither is happening, not even plans. Our governments suck. Funny aspect is that Slovenia is a small country (2M population) and could serve as testing ground for such experiments. I won't even mention basic income...

Meanwhile in Slovenia - here, have some subsidy for buying a new one and that's all. Figure out yourself about charging, specially if you live in an apartment.

Yes, true. Albeit they have worse energy density and some advantages as well.

Solid state batteries are supposedly much more fire resistant.

Hey, no worries. It's interesting how nature changes.

Yes, true, it's one of the 40,000+ "accidents".

That's interesting. You have an url handy for now details? Even if this wasn't the case, fossil generation isn't real feasible for us anyway.

TIL. But I'm not convinced that this would solve the problem for good. But it certainly helps with growth.

Yes, however the article lists it as a power source (of course it's great for building if possible) hence I'm looking at that aspect only. It's more suitable for heating, however, again, at scale it would be problematic (at that's not even a big one) plus emissions are not healthy. If you ignore emissions and use it for heating of few areas here and there (like it is a trend with pellets), taking into account growth rate, it could be a renewable I suppose.

I'm considering Fiido Titan as e-bike for shopping and short distance commuting. It's hilly where I need it. Any thoughts on bike quality or anything else? From a review on YouTube it seems decent enough. TIA

Hopeful Jonas recovered after all the injuries, but I somehow doubt it that he'll be at 100% after those injuries without much time to recover. While I'm rooting for PogRog, I fear a repeat of Giro, where Pog dominated and made it boring to watch. Or perhaps Remco will kick in, but then again he was also injured and didn't do well at Dauphine. What's you take?

Eurosport started sending e-mails that they are discontinuing streaming (premium) service in favor of HBO MAX. Which is much, like 3x more expensive if you happen to watch only bicycling or some other sports and you don't care about other stuff. Even more odd is that they were sending e-mails like a couple of weeks ago that they were just increasing the price. So, that's it for me watching bicycling, I guess. It's been nice while it lasted, then corporate greed took over.
