I am third year CE. I use a i7 MacBook Pro 13 for a bit, but upgraded to a 15 inch air with 8gb. It's good, but the only downside is the lack of boot camp. I really hope it comes back, but in the meantime I found a friendly Indian who showed me how to get parallels/windows key for free so I can still use windows programs without having to pay an arm and a leg for something that was free.

I had a 16gb/512 i7 2020 MacBook Pro 13. (That I got for free due to the apple keyboard issues). I traded it in on a m2 base MacBook Pro 15. I am a computer engineering student and honestly I've never had any problems with my new MacBook. I can run whatever I want and it even games pretty well. The battery is amazing too. The only annoying thing is that boot camp isn't available, but I just pirated parallels so it's whatever.

I have the 15 MacBook Air base model. Great computer. I like it more than my 2020 MacBook Pro 13 16gb/512.
