Im doing some work with an anti-genocide contingent gathering associated with the Revolutionary Workers party. Signed up to help out but not 100% sure yet what the specific messaging will be.
Edit: I personally plan to lean on how military budgets going to arming genocide directly harms US troops and government workers as a way to swing some middle of the road liberals
Those going are expecting it to be smaller than the last one. Hoping to have some focused messages and get some of these libs thinking in the right direction.
I dont expect there to be much pushback from the local PD where im at. They were pretty chill as far as they will be.
The rally was great, got to attend in person. Really refreshing to be in a room of people that generally agree with your core political values without any of the typical career seeking theatrics.
Im talking with the Revolutionary Workers party people tomorrow afternoon about their org, I've seen some criticisms but im curious what the vibe is with them to the other users here?

At the upcoming No Kings, there are some smaller groups trying to steer the message towards actual concrete goals and put more focus on Gaza, ICE/DHS, and actionable issues. At least on the West Coast US.
The last one was "orange man toupée" shit, as per usual. Expecting this one to be similar

Hear hear. Fuck my boss too. My workplace is nutty. Currently the general big boss of the region is on a tirade firing everyone who questions any decisions upper management makes and then hiring on-call workers to replace them. At this point almost half of the workers are completely untrained and we all have to train them without extra pay, or make up for their mistakes otherwise we can get targetted for audits. Office work is abusive as fuck.

Similar situation happened to me as well. Relatable that the actual assault is seemingly less harmful than the reactions/treatment that follows.

___ In my specific story my girlfriend at the time (early 20s) started actively cheating on me with a man who lied about his age but turned out to be in his mid 30s. She would have him over at our place a ton and do increasingly degrading things to me around him to get off on it.
Me, being in love and severely depressed after my cat died, didnt really voice my concerns out of fear of being left alone during a very bad time. Eventually the behavior got strictly sexually degrading, but we eventually broke up when my depression made it so she wasnt feeling empowered by taking advantage of me anymore.
When I finally came forward and told my friends/mutuals what had happened, it turned out she had already painted me as the sole abuser in the relationship and that I was going insane. So many close friends stopped talking to me and I only started to get opportunities to say my peice years later when my story hadnt changed and old friends bothered to actually hear me out
The worst aspects were bad faith interactions with women telling me that it couldnt have been SA because I was a man, or that since she was my girlfriend it couldnt have been traumatic.
People are much more understanding now when I talk about it and I'm in a much better place overall.

Straight up some comment on Bluesky mentioned it amongst all the recent bans. So far it seems like the kind of old internet vibes I enjoyed about early reddit and digg with a progressive focus. Very cool.
