What about on a Huawei phone? If it wasn't there to begin with and had to be installed I'd expect it could also be uninstalled. I don't have a Huawei phone to test it out.
Dynamic resolution? So it is going to bring you down to sub 1080p in order to run at a decent framerate? That doesn't seem worth it.

Another kind of funny thing is that this is on Lemmy.ml. "A community of privacy and FOSS enthusiasts."
It appears that there will be no ads and the only monetization is for advanced features. Assuming that actually is true that is a respectable way to monetize something.
I never really used Reddit so I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me that power over users is one of the primarily motivators of admins and power mods.
nuked nearly all meme ones
I filter by new and all instances frequently every single day and I'd wager that low effort meme content is about 80% or more of Lemmy by engagement. There are far more posts created that aren't memes that nobody comments on or upvotes, but I consider those basically dead content.
Perhaps some day people will engage with more critical thinking topics, but until then blocking all memes is basically blocking Lemmy.
Things would only get worse for user privacy if nothing is done and we let tech companies do whatever they want whenever they want.
Well for one thing a user is prevented from deleting their account when banned. I'm pretty sure this can be considered a violation of the law.
I think memes also needs a couple more rules. Specifically I think the posts should be memes.
Only ever using private windows and then alt F4ing to automatically delete all session data.
It's not Chrome. Are there really any other good options at this point?
