I do remember that. I suppose not enough people would ever use it for things to ever balance out.
Does that not suggest that Xbox game pass is not very successful?
I think some of the web frameworks people use are converting the desktop site into a mobile layout by applying additional CSS and layers ontop of it that makes it more inefficient.
There is probably no good answer or at least no definitive answer as of course instance admins can do whatever they want and clearly do. They usually have no founding principles or strict guidelines in which they adhere.
In my opinion I'd prefer people to enact moderation as little as possible. There should be a set of rules outlined for the community and the only time a moderator should take some moderation action is if one of those rules is broken. Of course there are always going to be things that are in grey areas, but I believe it makes more sense to have as few false positive actions taken as possible. If this results in some undesirable comments or posts to remain active then so be it. That is what the point system is for after all.
If the rules are determined to be inadequate then they should be updated and everyone should be informed so that everyone can make personal decision about whether to continue participation or not.
Reading rainbow with Geordi La Forge?
I think it would make more sense to me if instead of him turning around talking to who knows who it was an internal thought bubble.
Pretty much. They aren't a trusted intermediary at all.
I think it is a little different. They might even want you to not pay for it if you are a prolific user of Prime Videos.
Even before Twitter was purchased it was in a really delicate balancing act of profitability. Any misstep that seemed slightly too much had advertisers and users leaving and the opposite meant Twitter couldn't make a profit. Perhaps anyone purchasing Twitter would tip that scale with anything they tried, but Elon here instead of walking back his decisions when they don't work keeps doubling down.
This doesn't work if you are banned as it prevents you from logging in. Being able to log in and not post is a more user friendly banned state and would allow them to delete their account themselves.
Side question, deleting your account or purging a user would delete all of that users comments correct?
I only created this account after I couldn't log onto my other one. They are still federated with lemmy.ml so I suspect that is not a point of contention.

I am really close to watching the whole thing a 2nd time. Besides being genuinely a great show it has a lot of lines that are pretty hilarious out of context.
