would be like if someone an ethincally Asian UK citizen won miss UK and then got accused of pushing an Eastern standard of beauty in an ethnically Anglo-Celtic-etc nation.

I mean that is happening all the time. Especially if the winner is black. So the controversy isn't new. It's still racist and stupid.

I think they want to build a new front rather than joining an existing one. They might align more with Russia but I don't see India and China getting closer anytime soon.

The border clashes between India and China are getting more frequent. China and Pakistan are fairly aligned, which is a no-go for India. China doesn't like that India is chiming in on the South Chinese Sea stuff (against China). China doesn't like India "supporting" Tibet.

I don't know enough about the relation between India and Iran to comment on it.

As another idiot, there is a difference between tusks and teeth. They are different, tusks don't contain enamel for example and I think aliens could also determine this difference. It's rare for teeth to stick out like in the reconstruction.

They would also be able to determine that hippos can open their mouth extremely wide. Making it more likely for the long "fangs" to be at least partially covered and not exposed like the tusks of elephants.

First, scale back your expectations a bit. She is only 4 months old. You said she is crate trained and leash trained, if she also knows some commands like sit and come here you are on a very good pace. Around 4 moths is when you can start with the more advanced commands. Especially having her follow the "come here" command on a longer distance and while outside is going to be your big goal for now.

I would worry more about your beagle fighting over the bones. That's something that needs fixing more so than your 4 old puppy behaving like a puppy.

From the sounds of it, she spends way too much time in her crate. You said she is there while you are at work and over night. If you work 8 hour shifts that's 16 hours a day inside the crate. That's way too long. At her age she isn't even supposed to be in a crate for more than 4-5 hours straight and 8 hours in total should be the maximum for any dog. So when she gets out she really needs to burn energy. Just walking her isn't going to be enough with that much time spent in a crate. So get that intensity up.

In the morning before you go to work you have her play fetch so she can run at full speed and tire herself out and in the afternoon after work you take her to a dog agility training course. Even better would be to eliminate one of the crate time and exchange it for time with a dog sitter or dog day care center.

I understand you are currently worried about your dogs due to the parasites and playing fetch with a dog that's not fully trained yet is also dangerous. So maybe you will have to get active too and start jogging in the morning with them. Depending on your house maybe you can play fetch inside or build them a small obstacle course at home.

At the very least increase the size of the crate. Make it a fenced off part of your house. Just give them more space to play and move while locked up.

Limiting the carry on weight I can understand. The overhead compartment can only hold a certain amount of weight. So a limit has to exist.

And there is the danger of luggage falling on people during an emergency or even just when opening the compartment. And while 7kg hurts, more weight hurts more and even will get dangerous.

I am surprised it led to only 99 days fewer in homelessness compared to the control group that didn't receive money. But I suppose it just shows how fucked the current housing market is.

I don't think he is in any danger of getting kicked mid season. Red Bull probably wants the full sweep and by replacing Perez mid season it's just going to be more difficult to be 1&2 in driver standings. There is an argument he won't be the driver next season but this one he is safe.

It's a relic of the past. Old keyboards didn't have dedicated arrow keys and since many programs were only controlled by arrow keys rather than a mouse, having a num lock key was a good solution to the problem. But if you are still stuck in an environment where you have to navigate a lot with arrow keys, the num lock still comes in handy. Having Pg Up and Down and the Home/End keys nearby is super handy in this situation.

It's still useful for some old video games, especially for multiplayer where both play at the same time.

Copyright is essential. Without it, it would be nearly impossible for most creators to make a profit or even recoup their investment. Some other companies would just reproduce the finished good and sell it for less due to having fewer expenses. And while some may argue "people who want to support the creator will buy the official source" but the point is, without copyright, it will be almost impossible to know what is the official version and what isn't.

For example, books. The official first release has to pay for the time the author spent writing the book, it has to pay for the editors working on it, they have to pay for an artist to create cover art or any other illustrations used, they have to pay for advertisements, and finally the distribution. Someone else can just copy the finished work and then just have to pay for distribution. A person buying the book would have no chance of knowing which book is the original one because the books are identical. If Trademarks are still a thing there might be a different company name on the book but it would take a lot of effort for consumers to figure out which is the original.

Same with any kind of software. Someone has to pay for the time spent by the programmers, the designers, the person coming up with the ideas, and all other people involved in getting the program finished. Without copyright, someone else can just create a somewhat official-looking site and sell the product for slightly less. Mark it "On-Sale" and people wouldn't even be able to tell from the price whether the product is "official" or not.

We can get rid of copyright once the need for work is eliminated. If all of our basic needs are taken care of regardless of what we do, then creating art can entirely turn into something done out of passion. It could be achieved by implementing a UBI or however else the need for work/money is eliminated.

I agree that the current time of 70 years or the life of the author+70 years is too long and unnecessary though. A reduction to 20-30 years should be sufficient. Especially since trademark law can extend that. I don't think the moral argument of an author having control over how their creation is supposed to be used holds up.
