This is the reason, I refuse to update to the newest version of the OS. I will stick with Windows 10, thank you. I personally have windows 10 installed onto an external m.2 drive. I only ever boot it up when I need it, otherwise I use a windows 10 VM for everything. I daily drive Ubuntu.

Yea, that is what happens now. There are methods illustrated in youtube, on how to bypass this petty bullshit. It's currently a cat and mouse game with this kind of stuff. I'd suggest jumping ship off of windows and go linux, you can always VM into windows.

Oh yea, a dual purpose monitor would be awesome. Like, if we aren't currently using the integrated monitor for normal use, we could use it as an external monitor for something like a nintendo switch or a steam deck?

Batch 8 for the new 16 or 13 AMD? I am still waiting on my 16 inch pre-order here. Sitting pretty in batch 6, still waiting.

Yes you should, be sure it's has good reviews and is reliable. The stock charger.... huh.... sometimes, just doesn't work. I have to do a whole ritual of disconnecting the USB-C cable or if it is sever, I have to disconnect the power side of as well.

Yea you definitely can, for school and a simple game like stardew valley? An 11th gen will work just fine, there is no reason to buy the newest version that is coming up.

Yea, I enjoy the genre of games. I personally play games no problem on Ubuntu 22.04 with steam.

Is there a way to trick the windows 10 install into thinking an external drive is an internal drive? I have a kioxia that just will not be read by my framework 11 gen intel, no matter what I do. I've tried updating the BIOS, btw; just plopping the files onto a flashdrive and expecting it to boot off of it does not work at all.

My BIOS' secure boot is disabled and I have plopped the files onto a flashdrive, but when I go to boot into it; it is not in the available list of boot devices. How do I actually update my BIOS? Is there a flashable version?

Edit: Do I seriously need to go out and get myself a sandisk?
