This is also what I do, however, each user creates their own tailnet, not an account on mine and I share the server to them.

This way I keep my 3 free users for me, and other people still get to see jellyfin.

Tailscale and jellyfin in docker, add server to tailnet and share it out to your users emails. They have to install tailscale client in a device, login, then connect to your jellyfin. My users use Walmart Onn $30 streaming boxes. They work great.

I struggled for a few weeks to get it all working, there's a million people saying "I use this" but never "this is how to do it". YouTube is useless because it's filled with "jellyfin vs Plex SHOWDOWN DEATH FIGHT DE GOOGLE UR TOILET".

I have been off reddit since the api thing so I'm way out of touch with the current content and status.

It just seems odd all these posts about Reddit dying and it makes me think of the people that loved reddit aren't all here on Lemmy, so did they quit all of it or went somewhere else?

No one I know in person switched away, technical or not, they still use reddit. The whole situation is just not adding up.

A lot of valid reasons for the price to be high but that's still a lot of money. $80 for a game hurts. It went from a must buy early this year when I heard about it to ehh... Maybe I'll see what happens first.

I wasn't a super active website user, and just followed in YouTube but after I watched the video, I did two things.

First, I tested my backup/restore on my truenas.

Second, I joined the patreon and probably stick around for a bit. Everything good seems to ask me for money, and it's exhausting but at the same time it's $36 a year and I just won't buy something I don't really need at Costco this month and it's covered.

The other seasons were okay, actually they were good compared to most other shows and I love how each season is its own unique story unrelated to other seasons. I think order could go, season 1, season 4 and then 2 and 3.

Season 1 is on another level though, just an incredible watch.

I've had two failed harddrives in the last month. Not sure if bad batch or what. Thankfully the order these were on only were the two drives so may not see more. They are under warranty but it's still a pain!

Otherwise I'm enjoying Mealie lately for my recipes. Kinda nice having them all in one place but accessible by anyone in the house.

I agree the end of a series can feel a little draining as the stories conclude. I get that way with books too.

Lots of rewatches of the trek series, and I do skip ones that are boring to me, sometimes I just follow main story arc with ent and voy, but there are some really good bottle episodes that I miss that way.

If it feels like work to watch an episode, then I skip it. Sometimes it's the topic, or my mood, or life.

Enjoy tng again!

This is an incredible write up and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

I've used both platforms, and had fun with both. I barely use either for posting though, and more for trying to follow topics I like, as I do on Lemmy.

Anything to stop ending my Google searches in "reddit".

Curiosity got the better of me and I did try to video link in the article but it's dead.

Edit: found it, nothing to see, potato quality and for all I know it could be literally anyone.

I hear a loud bang as if from another room. Like a trash can falling over, or a someone dropping a bag with about 10lbs on a hardwood floor, or a pushing a wooden chair into a dining table too hard. It's enough to think "what just fell?!".

It does not sound like a door closing, or stomping, or something fragile moving or falling.

I startle awake, realize I'm the only one awake, and that there aren't anymore sounds so it must have been my brain and I pass out fully.

It's pretty strange and I think it's funny how I never really thought about it until now.

I really tried, a few times and I just can't make it exciting. I find it so boring to search for people and tags I wantto follow. That said, I wasn't a huge Twitter user before, and i don't have bluesky. I'm just hoping one day, mastodon clicks with me.
