Random observation post

I've unfortunately been to a lot of medical centers and hospitals in the last year or two. I actually thought it a great idea to continue use of masks in those settings. I had hoped this would be the new thing to do, and it would be maintained for the foreseeable future.

As I sit here yet again in an ER, I note this is no long the case. 25% of people coming in, and zero of the staff. Sigh.... Of all the settings it makes sense and probably always should have.

I realized I had never plugged anything on here, and it's gotta be ok to do that once in awhile, eh? I needed inspiration to get back at working on new music so I dug through the back catalog.

I am really struggling with the fact that I work in a place surrounded by affluent entitled customers and I can't stand the things I am working on as they are expensive overly technical crap and I hate it. I can't reconcile that I work for people I hate, and maybe that's classist. But I am seriously considering going to a shop closer to my area, where I can barely afford to live as is, just so I don't have to be reminded daily of all the shit I could never afford. It's too damned depressing.

I never thought running commentary on a movie watch would be so entertaining.

My daily... (media.kbin.social)
submitted 2 years ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Since the slow start of a community here I might as well throw some stuff up here to fatten the numbers...

I am an alignment tech by day and music enthusiast 24/7. Been in the biz for 30 years. Seen all kinds of fads come and go. I like to cherry pick, mix and match, and try to come up with my own thing.

Being in the biz so long, and slowly turning into a tree hugging hippy who loves bicycles... I've grown out of love with cars, but I do still appreciate them. And for now I'm stuck driving this as it's paid for, and it'll run another 20 years as long as the rust doesn't take it. I've never had much opportunity and money to have a project car. I would of I could though.

Either way, I enjoy messing about with the look of my daily from time to time. The current guise. Not bad even when filthy.

Figured with the last few threads inspiring me to try out a dry herb vape. And I realized I knew nothing about it. But reading the manual and getting it going was easy. And I just experimented a bit and with temps. And apparently I landed in a pretty good sweet spot.

I will share some more of my experience, but I would like to hear some others more experienced takes on their usages, tips, tricks, favorite temps and getting the most out of it. Thanks!

Ok. Thanks. I kinda thought maybe that's what it was. Just ordered my first herb vape so trying to learn all I can about it. Relevant post indeed.

I recall in a recent interview where he said he's actually a lefty. So when he started playing he had to very meticulously work on pick techniques as it didn't come natural. So I believe that's the result of as you said, tons of focused practice.

There are times and situations I might enjoy that. But as a regular smoker at the moment getting high is kind of hard due to increased tolerance. I would likely have to take a week or two to reset to try that stuff out.

To be fair, I mostly replaced craft beer with weed. So getting high is kind of the point. Just like getting drunk was. Good taste but also often higher abv. Shrug.

In case anyone goes looking like I just did. This at a quick glance at least gives an idea.

Pretty wild, from around 3% to hell, over 30% for plenty of strains now.

I was recently thinking about the old days when I started out as a young teen. The "tech" we used and sources of materials to construct our tools. And the weed we must have been smoking... And this is in the late 80s, early 90s. Even my memories don't look so bleak compared to these. But I was meaning to look up the THC levels over the years compared to what is around now...

I blurted it out in a chat one day in reference to something, and realizing it would be a clever band name or something... Well when I need a new identity to serve as a vehicle for my current creative output, here we are. I realized that it was at least somewhat clever and oddly not taken anywhere. So I am running with it.

I also dropped in to say... I was just sewing up a battle vest of my own this evening so it's timely.

I think it may be time to just delete all online accounts and only use internet for streaming video and audio or shopping/banking. Doing anything social online has been grossly monetized and I hate it. If fediverse gets attacked by yet another megacorp, I'm out I have no fight or energy left. Been online since dialup bbs, ran my own, forums and personal sites too. Plenty of IRC channels and other communities. But I just don't care anymore. I have very few IRL friends and pretty much zero online anymore as they all settled into FB and I ditched out years ago. Dropping this really isn't more than nuking a distraction. I still have a lot of unread books. Shrug.

That's not entirely true. I have twice in the last year had no other option than to install an app to use tickets I purchased. An many medical services refuse to do anything that isn't online or via an app. It's getting to be harder and harder to not need a mobile device. It's getting pretty stupid. Theine has been crossed already. I lived half my life without internet, I'd survive without it. But the world isn't headed in a direction that makes it feesible anymore unless you just completely check out.
