Hey guys, been working on a more comprehensive thread inventory! Let me know your thoughts :)

Can be found here: clickstitch.app/inventory

πŸ” Searchable

  • Supports DMC, Anchor, Kreinik and Madeira threads
  • All of which are sortable by code and description

πŸ”ƒ Find Alternatives

  • There's a button for each thread in your inventory to find alternative threads of a similar colour, both for the same brand and other brands.

🧡 Sortable

  • Threads are sortable by code, number of that thread in your inventory and colour
  • Sorting by colour makes it easier to see what groups of colours you have in your inventory!

Hey guys!

Similar to my other post, I've created a small widget-style page for converting from one thread brand to another!

https://clickstitch.app/tools/thread-brand-converter

πŸ“… Up-to-date

I’ve written a script that will retrieve all threads listed on the brand websites to ensure new ones are available.

Currently a total of 1683 threads exist, split as:

  • DMC: 665
  • Anchor: 484
  • Madeira: 379
  • Kreinik: 155

But there are many more so these will come in the future!

🎯 Accuracy

All stored threads are compared, and the thread with the closest RGB value is chosen per brand.

πŸŽ‡ Modern

A search engine for threads, it will find the closest match to whatever thread brand/code/description you enter!

Hopefully it’s useful, what other brands would you like to see?

Any bugs or suggestions let me know! Best way is via Discord: https://clickstitch.app/discord

I've updated it so that the loading text replaces the textbox content. No more resizing and the colours will transition nicely!

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Thanks for the feedback, I'll reduce the resizing! At some point I'd like some options to be configurable (such as filtering on metallic threads etc) so that height may change a lot

Hey guys!

As part of ClickStitch I've has to store threads from multiple brands and ended up creating this fun colour picker!

Hi all!

I have another update for ClickStitch, a tracking and organization app for cross-stitching!

My initial idea was to add some form of digital needle minders, what came to be was Parked Threads! You can now place a "pin" on a stitch and add a label/specific thread to it.

Parked threads will be visible/hidden based on which thread is currently highlighted and can be turned off completely if you wish.

So far I'm loving adding quality of life features to aid in the cross-stitching process, if you have any ideas or feedback I'd love to here it!

There's also a Discord if you want to join!

I've been busy doing some spring cleaning around the app!

One thing that was important was to make things accessible so I have merged the "details" and "analytics" pages like so:

Are there any other stats that you think would be interesting to see? Would love to hear your thoughts over on the Discord!

I've been making a lot of backend changes to the app recently with the main goal of improving the pattern sharing. Here are the changes!

1. Discord!

I've set up a Discord server for any feedback, suggestions and bugs! Feel free to join :)

https://clickstitch.app/discord

2. Link Preview Support for Project Sharing

You can now paste the URL to any site that supports link previews, e.g:

BlueSky:

Discord:

Instagram:

3. Miscellaneous Tools Page

There's now a tools page, for miscellaneous utilities that help with creating a new project! Currently supported is canvas sizes and number of skeins calculator, but if you have any suggestions let me know!

4. Active Project

The latest project to be stitches will now display at the top of the dashboard, for anyone who likes to start many projects!

It's very much still WIP πŸ˜… it's a large project which usually take me a couple years to finish! My other projects were the same so I know I'll get there eventually haha

The GIF is representative of my actual current progress!

Hey everyone! I have finally released the next update for ClickStitch; a new page for converting any image into a cross-stitch pattern!

🧡 You'll be able to preview the palette (currently supports DMC threads) and how many stitches are required for each thread. Then upload to start tracking progress!

πŸ“· Sometimes if the image is high detail the resulting image can get grainy, so I have added an adjustable smoothing functionality which will hopefully reduce the amount of noise!

Let me know if there are other features you think would be useful to you.

πŸ”— That's not all! Now there is also a share page for projects, so other can keep track of your progress but also to preview the entire history of your stitches.

For example, for my Templar Knight pattern:

Simply move the progress bar into the past!

Would love to see your projects using the share feature! ❀

Back-stitching support has finally arrived! πŸͺ‘🧡

The latest version of ClickStitch now supports uploading patterns containing back-stitches.

clickstitch.app

They are:
βœ”οΈ Complete-able
βœ”οΈ Included in the inventory checker
βœ”οΈ A specific layer that can be hidden/shown
βœ”οΈ Drawn onto the thumbnail!

Please upload patterns, I'd love to see them! 🫢

Other v1.3 notable changes:

  • Revised dashboard UI, feedback appreciated
  • Creators page! - Visit a creator to see all their patterns
  • Toggleable layer visibility: stitches, back-stitches & the grid
  • Bug fixes

πŸ‘οΈ Preview of the layer visibility:

Not been able to work on it for a couple weeks, but getting back into it!

This is with the completed stitches marked on the ClickStitch app:

Hoping I'll be able to do a not so dull colour next πŸ˜…

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Haha, when I started making my own patterns from images, I use FlossCross.com which has the option to export as an fcjson, then I wrote a script to convert it into an Excel doc.

Excel is able to lookup cells by background colour, so I'd find cells with the thread index with the original colour (as in, not ones I've marked as green) in order to find remaining stitches per colour.

Obviously it's a bit clunky so I made ClickStitch!

From a few days ago, I've been marking all the completed stitches as I go (using clickstitch.app) and came to around 16%!

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Not currently, the idea is to upload a pattern based on the exported data from FlossCross or WinStitch (see here). It would be nice to upload PDFs though!

Heyo, another update for the project I've been working on.

ClickStitch is a webapp that allows you to track cross-stitching progress, manage your skein inventory and generally makes cross-stitching more efficient!

You can now select an individual thread to be highlighted! Other threads will be faded out so you can focus on the one you want to stitch.

Visit clickstitch.app to try it out!

Feedback on bugs and features is always welcome! ❀️

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Thanks, let me know how it goes!

Hello everyone! I have another update to https://clickstitch.app that will aim to enhance how you manage your cross-stitch inventory.

The inventory page finally displays the colour of the thread! They are also searchable by their code or brand (currently DMC and Anchor threads are available):

The inventory page, listing a few colourful skeins

However, the biggest change is the project page. Navigate to any project in your dashboard and the app will calculate how many skeins are required for it and warn you if you are missing any:

A project will various threads that may be missing or not

Just make sure you have enough of the relevant skeins in your inventory and you're good to go!

Feedback on bugs and features is always welcome! ❀️

Thanks! And thanks for the feedback, defo something I need to think about since it's possibly quite involved. There is already a creator dashboard available so I've tried to make it as simple as possible, hopefully time will tell when/if people start using it!

Sods law, the hosting provider I use is having a power cut in their datacentre, so all servers are down at the moment! Please try again tommorrow sorry!

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

I see what you mean, I think what you're describing is pretty much what I used to do in Excel where you can search cells for a particular background colour and you could jump between them.

That's an awesome suggestion, so I'll definitely look into adding that!

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

I do the same! At the moment, you can see the completed/remaining per colour whilst stitching. There is an analytics page which needs some love, so having pie charts per colour is a great idea, thanks!
