Smart, I'll definitely try that out.
I'm trying out using Claude on a problem at work that has been frustrating; lots of unexpected edge cases that require big changes.
I definitely know less about my "solution" (it's not done yet, but it's getting close) than if I actually sat down and did it all myself. And it's taken a lot lot of back and forth to get to where I am.
It'd probably have gone better if, once Claude provided me a result, I went through it completely and made sure I understood every aspect of it, but man when it just spits out a full script, the urge to just run it and see if it works is strong. And if it's close but not quite right, then the feeling is "well, let me just ask about this one part while I'm already here" and then you get a new complete script to try. And that loop continues, and I never get around to really going through and fully understanding the code.
Yeah you can find a heart container in the desert region.
I wonder if reaching through a portal and, say, holding your hands would feel more like holding two strangers hands. I mean, you're still completely aware it's your own two hands touching, and you can feel any movement mirrored in both of them, but your brain would be expecting your two arms to be coming together, and the fact that they were spread apart...I wonder how that would affect the subjective experience.
While I like the joke, I think it might be obsolete at this point. AI is (unfortunately) here to stay, and giving it a big batch of code and saying "summarize what this does for me" or even "rename the variables for clarity and add comments" works pretty well. As with all things AI, never just trust what it gives you in return, but it can make dealing with this kind of situation 1000x easier.
I'm a 41 year old dad with a 1 y/o and a 3 y/o, with a partner who has a busy schedule. My advice is (surprise!) the same as everyone else's, trying to work a 60 hours work week and do that other stuff isn't sustainable. Maybe if you had a stay-at-home partner who took care of childcare and household chores, I could see you making it work (but then you wouldn't really be involved in your family's life at all which I would consider a deal breaker).
I'm tired all the time, but it's at least possible. If I was working 60 hours a week? No way.
And while I have no interest in an affair or divorce, I probably should drink less wine in the evenings while making dinner and doing chores :-/
EDIT: I just saw your other comments, you work 40 hours a week, and are in 15-20 hour training per week, until January. Can you get anyone to help watch your kids for another 1.5 months? Family? Babysitter?

Even less effort than what? They just released a superman movie that didn't have anything to do with previous superman movies. Isn't that the easiest way to do a reboot? How is shoehorning in a multiverse easier?
I've read so many headlines about a doctor that start with "Doctor Who..." that this time I was like "okay, haha, it sounds like the TV show, but let's see what some nutty doctor did this time..." and ended up getting double-bamboozled.

Oh no, now he'll feel compelled to institute martial law. Who could have eeeeeeeever seen this coming? Hopefully his plan fails.
