The second is watchable but is worse as an adaption.

The events in the first book are concluded in it. It's not a trilogy adaption of Dune the book. Many of the characters have their actions and motivations swapped onto other characters. The ending changes some significant points. Feels like the third movie might end up being a freestyle attempt to start a "Dune Universe" IP rather than caring about the source material.

It's kind of a mess but still fun in some bits. Not sure if I'll bother to watch the third when it comes out.

That's 2nd Mate Danielle Randolph who quoted Scooby. She and others tried to get the Captain to further change course around the weather. He did not. Everyone died.

He just didn't take the storm seriously enough and once things became dire it was clear that neither the ship nor the crew were properly set up to make it through. Bad maintence and poor training by the ship owner TOTE were the secondary causes.

Once they abandoned ship they had little chance of survival due to outdated lifeboats and equipment.

As bad as the Captain screwed up, in the end he seemed a good person. After giving the order to abandon ship, one of the crew understandably panicked and froze up. Captain Davidson did not leave him. He spent his final minutes trying to help that last man as the ship sank under them.

The last we heard of 2nd Mate Randolph she had gone in search of life vests for herself, the Captain, and the panicked crewmen. She was there to the end as well.

First part of your comment isn't true. I can't find any source to back that up. The company did screw up in plenty of other ways. Then they tried to weasle out of the consequences as your link illustrates,. So still villians.

I'm more interested as to why you have a cottered crank from a bicycle on your counter. It looks like it has been cusomized into a tool with a little blacksmith work. What's it do?

Low end bikes like that just don't have much value used. They are generally considered disposable. Still if it is in good ridable shape you might get $50. Some times you cant give them away... Used helmets are iffy to the buyer. You never can be certain they are in good safe condition, even if they look nice. A nice camelback might be worth more than the bike and helmet!

Nice little rabbit hole to crawl down!

This is my old Yamaha FZR400 with a 600 engine. I need to do some maintenance on it to get out on the track in a couple weeks.
