Great news
This graph is much more reassuring:
https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/dailystats
We are stable, even slightly growing in the last few days.
Thought you were talking about the country at first
Seems like nonsense to me to change time every six months

Monthly active users is probably the more relevant metric.
36k which seems stable.
Expect another increase when 0.19 version is release, or next time Reddit messes up
It's on the roadmap for 0.19, so coming hopefully in a few weeks
It seems you were unlucky with your instances, sorry to hear that.
You are currently on feddit.uk, which is indeed managed by a single person.
I always recommend to go for instances with at least two admins, for this kind of issues.
https://lemm.ee/, https://sh.itjust.works/ https://discuss.tchncs.de/ are solid choices.
Which are those apps? Boost, Sync, Thunder, Liftoff, Connect, Avalon and Voyager all work pretty well.
The authentication error is probably due to the release of 18.5 yesterday, should be fixed quickly.
All of those are growing pains. If you don't want to deal with those, you don't have too, just take a break from Lemmy. People should be free to let go of platforms at any time, and come back after a while if they feel like it.
Edit: Also, you can use https://github.com/CMahaff/lasim to move accounts
Apparently,
Because of things like Coriolis effect and convective currents, there just aren’t winds that blow across the equator, not at the scale that would blow a hurricane from one hemisphere to the other anyway.
Winds tend to blow along and away from the equator, not across it.
This, or blocking self hosting pictures
I'm also impressed by feddit.de presence, Fediverse culture seems strong in Germany
Lemmy.world holding such a prevalent place in the Lemmy/Kbin part of the Fediverse makes it a major single point of failure.
They should still be the newcomers instance, but communities and users should migrate to other instances to increase the resilience of the Fediverse.

Probably busing after relocating to the UK
