Amtrak says it’s aiming to bring passenger rail service to Madison by 2030, earlier than previously planned, as the rail service looks to connect Madison to Milwaukee and Chicago and eventually the Twin Cities.

In the first phase of the effort, Amtrak would extend two daily Chicago-to-Milwaukee trains to Madison, said Arun Rao, senior director of state partnerships and development for Amtrak.

What an encouraging story. I wish I could read about unionization going well more often. Thank you for sharing.

For users under 18, the platform would have to set privacy restrictions to the most private level available. And the bill would ban certain “addictive” features from being used in a minor’s social media feed. That includes “infinite scrolling; a profile-based feed; push notifications; autoplay video,” the bill says.

Can we get features designed to be addictive banned, generally? Regular users need to be gained by having a good quality product, not by exploiting brain chemistry.

I’ve definitely looked at this, but never realized I there was a .ics option! Thank you very much; that’s super helpful!

Unfortunately, budgets exist. The current govenment structure makes that unavoidable, and changing that fact is not easy or immediate.

Hi there! I'm in Madison and am pretty active on the subreddit. I'm making my way over here slowly but surely. I am in grad school for urban planning. I enjoy talking and debating politics and philosophy, and am active on the Social Democracy subreddit.
