Although I agree and admire the enthusiasm, you should really add "get organised" to your list. Revolution without class organisation is anarchism, and you don't actually need to be great at every single one of those things you listed in order to be prepared.

However every single party should prepare for the scenario of illegality and military conflict you seem to be prepping for.

I can't think of anything more "late stage capitalism" than one of the most central internet companies propping up a fake product to steal crumbs from affiliate links of all things.

Considering how central "creators" and entertainment are to Yankee culture, I wouldn't be surprised if this even led to a Congress hearing lol.

I know the broad strokes of investment in the healthcare industry, economic planning, public trust and participation and all that. I also know the results, having some of the lowest death rates despite either being hit first (China) or having a besieged economy (Cuba).

But I have no idea about the details of policies, implementation, evaluation of the results and adaptation that actually went on during those 2 years.

I assume both Communist Parties produced in-depth reports regarding the pandemic, but search engines are garbage now.

So what exactly were the policies? Which ones worked out of the box and which ones needed adapting? Feel free to share sources (I can read Spanish, but sadly not Chinese).

I usually don't like (climate) optimism, but hey, that's something.

Failure to do this will mean that the Americans have effectively ceded the South China Sea, parts of the East China Sea, the Taiwan Strait, and even the Yellow Sea to the People’s Republic of China.

Once that happens, the Chinese then move with great speed to push their power beyond that First Island Chain all the way to the Third Island Chain (which includes Hawaii), and it’s a whole new ballgame.

It's interesting how they never properly analyse how a war with China would play out outside of Chinese waters. It's almost as if China (or any other country, really) would never bother waging war against the USA outside its own territory.

Jurors deliberated for five days before declaring Daniel Penny not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in the death of 30-year-old Jordan Neely on a New York City subway train on 1 May 2023.

The verdict comes after prosecutors agreed to drop a more serious charge of second-degree manslaughter on Friday, as jurors could not reach an agreement.

The move allowed the jurors to move on to consider the second lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide.

"We couldn't be more pleased that a jury of Danny's peers acquitted him of any wrongdoing," his lawyers said in a statement afterwards.

"New Yorkers can take some comfort in knowing that we can continue to stand up for one another without sacrificing our rights or our freedoms."

Mind you, the murderer got three million dollars in donations for his defence.

I'm loosely aware that there's a Marxist Film Theory school, and that obviously there were many filmmakers and theorists who were Marxists in history, but I can't wrap my head around how one would specifically apply Marxism to film critique and production.

I also can't find any understandable explanation. Could somebody ELI5?

surprising reasons

It's the material conditions of working class Statesians again. How surprising.

I hate how suicide is treated as some mysterious issue by the bourgeois media. How hard is it to think that maybe making life easier and worth living would make more people want to stay alive?

Every time a liberal politician says "we have to be practical" about implementing basic social welfare such as higher minimum wage or universal healthcare, remember that they are explicitly weighing the amount of people who will die or kill themselves without those things.

As one author puts it:

“Suicide hotline crisis numbers and efforts to help people at the individual level are all amazing and necessary, but our work shows that higher-level, institutional interventions are also critical in addressing this crisis,” said Simon. “Giving a person a job or proper health care can also be a suicide-prevention tool.”

Managed to get access, here's the paper in catbox.

Unlike a human, Ashley always shows up for the job, has perfect recall of all of Daniels’ positions, and does not feel dejected when she’s hung up on.

Oh wow, truly the party that represents workers.

People over here sound so much like CK2 players that I get flashbacks to the thrashfire Pagan Fury dlc soundtrack. "You don't understand, they're fighting a genocide! Which is why we must conscript and self-genocide the entirety of Ukraine to prevent the separatist half of Ukraine from being genocided by their allies!"

As the old saying goes, "every party has a revisionist. If you don't know who they are, it might be you."

I think at this point is basically impossible. If I recall correctly most planes use some metal that is mostly produced in Brazil and then they also produce a lot of the world's livestock feed.

What a spez move. Pre-emptively de-federating is just a bad move, no other way to look at it. They're a very diverse group and generally much kinder than most lemmy users. At the very least you should've tested federation for a day or two to see how the interactions play out. But anybody here can go over there and see for themself how nice they can be even when disagreeing, which they do a lot among themselves.

Also where in the Code of Conduct does it say the only ideology allowed is liberalism? Going the way of Reddit with vague justifications and arbitrary decisions will make the administration a lot of profit some day, but there's a reason people left that one.

It's time for liberals to start voting with their wallets. Not that it matters because their wallets are at least 6 orders of magnitude smaller than the ones who will actually invest in Ukraine.

Why do these idiots keep publicizing every breath of the UA army like they're doing investment quarterly reports? Do they think Russian intel workers can't read English?

Internet trolls propelled Prigozhin’s rise. Now some celebrate his fall.

I'm generally not a violent person but Telegraph headlines are one of the few things that make me consider smacking somebody across their face. And Google still deems it worthy of top results sometimes. Horrid.

Southboi here, yeah she isn't. Only people who even bother talking about her are terminally online fascists. Or just silly memes. At most the defence for her is against people demanding human rights abuses against her, bigotry, lies or stuff like that, not her movement. Sadly the internet is hosted in the North so we gotta learn these Swedish unpronounceable names to debunk imported nonsense conspiracy theories sometimes.
