Tesseract is great!
I'm not against hosting a comics community, but it's also not like /c/StarTrek is overflowing with OC and I'm sure the mods would be happy to have comics content (and you happier with their 10k users).
@[email protected] Tagging you here because you're basically the only other person who contributes to this community.
The downvotes are all coming from accounts on other instances, which as @[email protected] suggested, makes us think it's most likely people browsing "All" and not appreciating seeing twenty discussion posts (not that that justifies it).
Any slowness should be gone by now, I haven't seen the JSON thing happen to me yet, but I'll look into it. Next time it happens to you can you DM me a screenshot?
There's a Voyager theme? What instance? I'd love to add it here.
I banned the account from the instance and alerted its instance Admin. Lemmy makes it very easy for bot accounts to self-identify and this one wasn't which makes it more suspicious. But what is its goal? Karma farming??
Not a bad idea for the future!
Go into your user settings and set the theme to "mintybubble"
It's completely ugly, but it is full-width. yes, it's in our future plans to have a better theme(s).
We're aware thanks, something went wrong in the latest update, it'll be fixed soon.
Edit: fixed now
That depends! You can run an instance on an old PC for just yourself and some friends for next to nothing, but a bigger instance with lots of traffic can easily climb to hundreds per month or more. No idea where we'll end up when things slow down, but the subreddits this server represent currently have more users than the entire Lemmy-verse 😅
As ValueSubtracted said please report. Reporting alerts startrek.website admins and the admins of the user's home instance. If we notice another instance regularly not cleaning out their trash, we have the option to defederate from them.
