Can't wait to try this.

No power is ever as absolute as people think. AmeriKKKa has been in a death spiral for a while now, but it will probably still tske a really long time to disintigrate. If anything, fascism signals that the elite are losing their grip on power as it's the tool they always turn to when desperately holding on. It will look like absolute power for a while, but it will ultimately burn itself on both ends until there isn't anything left to burn. Alot of people will inevitable get burnt up between the flames though.

I think we are pretty much in agreement here.

I think everybody is focusing too much on the word betrayal and not enough on the being a syccophant to a would be fascist. If you don't think thats a problem because, "business," that makes you also a fascism enabler. Just because they are good at the privacy part, doesn't mean a company that cow tows to fascism can ever be seen as safe for antifascists. Currently there is a good alternative; tuta. So why contribute to a company like this. There is massive potential to betray users if they are ideologically opposed to things that proton is coming to represent. If there is the option to divert resources away from projects that express fascist sympathies, its probably wise to do so.

From this picture this could be a few things, but I am leaning toward Laetiporus Cinncinatus (one type of chicken of the woods) very late in the season after the color has gone out of it. But it could also be something like a black staining polypore. If you go back earlier in the season next year and it's bright orange you would be able to confirm that it is one of the types of chicken of the woods (Some type of Laetiporus). I say Cinncinatus because it is growing out of the ground next to the tree, but it could just as easily be Sulphureous attached to a root that has died or something.

Adrian Lamo was a poser.

I love star trek, so I love that instance, but Lemmy.world feels like its replicating the toxic discussion style from reddit. I'm not here because I loved reddit but hate what they did to it. I have hated reddit for years, I am here for a completely different thing from reddit. The slrpnk instance and the Lemmy.ml are the main instances I want to interact with. If there are other anarchist instances in the future, I'd like to interact with those, but ideally keep the toxic bullshit to a minimum.

Need to replace them with the SRA stat.

Is it attached to the log under the duff or is it growing from the ground? It looks like it could be a weird morphology of a lobster mushroom (Hypomyces lactifluorum), but I've never seen a white lobster mushroom(I've been told they do exist though). The Russula Bevipes that becomes the lobster mushroom is white colored. Where was this found?

The problem with federating with anything owned by meta is that it is a data syphon. I don't think we can fully protect ourselves from that. If they want the data most of it is easy to come by by just having any ol mastodon account or running a malicious instance or just scraping what is public and inferring the rest. However we shouldn't be inviting a threat like that into our backyard. We should definitely not be federating with them. Furthermore it gives them the opportunity to bloat things down with ads or DOS small instances with amounts of traffic and data they can't handle and they could make it prohibitively expensive to run an instance that federates with them. Nipping those problems in the bud requires showing them the door early.
